Hitachi is highly rated by whom? I've already noted that Consumer Reports think they are so-so.

Read around. They are a generally decently rated (if not highly rated) projection TVs by consumers & "enthusiasts". This model is one of the good ones (AVS Forums). I'm probably gonna get it (the Hitachi)
I've lost faith in CR. Many things they've recommended I've bought and been disappointed in & what they said to avoid has worked well.
