Ask Rob if he means country and western music or the pop horseshit that gets served up as country music nowadays. *Digs out some George Jones albums*

Finished reading it yesterday... after my vows to try and savour it this time round. :blank: :retard:

Winky, you SHOULD read 'em. What kind of genital violence can I threaten you with in a bid to make you read 'em? :grinyes:

I don't like any of it. It's sort of like asking a 90 year old to appreciate the differences across the breadth and scope of heavy metal music. To them, it would just all sound like a train wreck anyway. To me there is no difference between Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, and Hank Williams. I didn't listen to it while growing up. None of my friends listened to it while growing up. It was a complete non entity.

Well, I grew up in a farming community so pretty much every adult I knew listened to it. I hardly like it all, but then I don't like all heavy metal, pop, rock and roll, etc. I see where it could be an acquired taste but for my money there's nothing like a good old cryin' in your beer song when your in the mood for cryin' in your beer.

In my case, the answer is "Yes". Country sucks. All of it. The only thing I can immediately think of that's worse is rap.

As for Harvey Porter, I ain't read or watched one yet, don't think this'un will break any new ground with me.

Ahh, country music. I hated it as a kid, I despise it now. I spent almost 5 years as a country disc jockey, and hated it then too. Though I must admit, maybe 30 or so songs did make it through the filter with me. Mostly Don Williams, Charlie Daniles, and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Today's country music is neither country nor music. Now bluegrass I can get with in a heartbeat. As I often say, mine may be the only CD player around that at any given moment might contain Ralph Stanley and Paul Stanley, Grandpa Jones and Pantera.

Took a little under 4 hours to finish. And the end was a blessing. What a literary disaster. It's written like a porn novel.
