You get what you pay for

I've notice as a rule in AA batteries, and probably other sizes that,
you really get what you pay for.
Energizer, Duracell, and a few other Larger Brand name stuff last
a Lot longer.
I got a pack of these Cheap look-alikes that look like Duracell, except they
are called Dinocell. There aren't worth a crap.

So what other thing do you know of where "as a rule" you get what you pay for?

Yep there's one.

I usually buy Hunt's, but Heinz had this cool new dispenser, so I got it this time. :D

Heinz rocks, nothing else will work. My lovely wife has a hard time understanding this one.

Ice Cream. There are several good premium brands, but stay away form the cheap stuff.

They really should list the miliamperes on batteries...so you can judge how long it'll last.

Meat, fruits and veggies. GradeA beef is far tastier, as are free-range chicken etc...

Coffee. There's good, bad, and airport (shudder).

Oh you know it man.
To me coffe is like cigarettes,
and "I'd rather fight than switch". :D

Folger's all the way.
instant too.
If I'm really hard up I can take Taster's Choice, or Sanka instant, but only
a cup or so.

I used to be a Maxwell House drinker, 'til I tried folgers.
(I think I did drink 8-O'clock self-girind for a while too)

I'm brand loyal to laundry detergent, ketchup, canned beans, hot dogs, spaghetti sauces, and a few other miscellaneous items. No substitutes will do. Other stuff, I'll go generic or store brand or whatever is on sale.

I'm not big on noname brands of anything. I know they have their place, and many times, they're made by the same factory as the name brand stuff .... but I tend to go higher end.

What about gasoline?
I go with the cheapest sometimes, but Citgo seems to run better in my van around here.

Shell for the company truck. Esso for my personal. There aren't a whole lot of noname gas stations up here. Used to be, but Ultramar bought out everything it could afford.

Mayo. Has to be Kraft mayo. I don't want the mircale whip or any of that other stuff. Just give me my Kraft mayo and I will be happy. :)

Yep. We don't tend to cook out of jars and packets. We make our food from scratch, and only use the freshest produce/fish/whatever. Things like having a decent olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Romano tomatoes. Pecorino. Fresh herbs.

Same is generally true of wine and beer as well. And of course, coffee.
