The Stab a Soldier in the Back Act 2007

There you go again....

Hey, that's a real nice graph. Got one that shows attacks on non-military targets since '01?

The dems want a complete withdrawl in a timely manner to coincide with the 2008 elections? I'm shocked!

Victory in Iraq would mean a political loss to the dems. The dems are getting desperate. They don't care about the future of this country, it's all about a 'return to power.'

As anticipated, a top White House adviser declared Thursday that President Bush would veto legislation unveiled earlier in the day by House Democrats to fund the war in Iraq, Agence France-Presse reports.

"Obviously, the administration would vehemently oppose and ultimately veto any legislation that looks like what was described today," senior Bush adviser Dan Bartlett told reporters.

They don't care about the future of this country, it's all about a 'return to power.'

I have to admit that the Republicans showed the same thing. In '04, I wanted to see a (R) controlled federal government. They promised a change. We saw none.

What we need are conservatives in power.

Wrong. The reps made a gigantic mess in Iraq, the people of this country became angry about it and gave the dems control of congress so they would do something about it, which they are now doing. This is the way things are supposed to work. Beautiful isn't it?

The reps are the only ones desperate at this point because they didn't care about the future of the country or what the citizens want.

so they would do something about it, which they are now doing.

For the sake of expediency, I'll not argue the fallacy of most of it but the quote, I can guarantee you, does not mean do what they're trying to do now.

You'd be wrong. Most of the country wants us to withdraw immediately or within the next 12 months.

Seems it does mean they should do what they're doing now.

I am ashamed to admit that the biggest RINO out there is from my state, Nebraska. It is nice to see letters to the editor of the local papers and hear callers to the local talk radio slam him and say that Hagel's political posturing "doesn't represent the people of NE."

Most of the country support finishing the job in Iraq.

They believe Americans should support the President because we are at war.

They believe that the war in Iraq is a key part of the GWoT.

They see the dems as pushing the President to withdraw from Iraq.

Strong majorities also say victory is vital to the War on Terror and that Americans should support President Bush even if they have concerns about the way the war is being handled, according to the survey conducted by Public Opinion Strategies.

The poll found that 57 percent of Americans supported "finishing the job in Iraq" - keeping U.S. troops there until the Iraqis can provide security on their own. Forty-one percent disagreed.

Even your own Stats, cerise...are contradicting themselves.

8. Iraq will never become a stable democracy.
60% 34% 34% 27% 20% 14% 5% *

9. I support finishing the job in Iraq, that is, keeping the troops there until the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security for its people.
57% 41% 34% 23% 13% 28% 1% 1%

57% say that you should stay until Iraq becomes stable and can hold it's own...but the same percentage also say that this'll never happen.

So...stay there forever - or drop Iraq whenever cause it won't make a difference. Iraq is doomed to failure.

This is a sectarian war now...which the troops are in the middle of, and where they can't take sides.

Wouldn't it be easier to go to all the Arab nations (sorry Iran, you're Persian) & re-divide them along demographic lines. The British didn't do a very good job.

Most of the country support finishing the job in Iraq.

No. You're poll was conducted by Public Opinion Strategies->

"a national Republican political and public affairs research firm with its roots in political campaigns"

Try Gallup....

PRINCETON, NJ -- The American public is more in favor of Congress passing legislation that would set caps on the number of U.S. troops serving in Iraq and a timetable for withdrawal of all troops than they are in favor of Congress passing a non-binding resolution expressing disfavor with the recently announced troop "surge," while 6 out of 10 Americans oppose the surge. A majority of Americans continue to say that U.S. military involvement in Iraq was a mistake. Many Americans say that their congressional representative's position on the war will be an important factor in their congressional vote next year, but most do not know what their representative's position on the troop surge is.

* By a 57% to 40% margin, Americans favor Congress putting a cap or limit on the number of troops serving in Iraq at any one time.

* By a 63% to 35% margin, Americans favor Congress setting a time-table for withdrawing all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of next year.

Sure.

Was there a point?

A poll commissioned by the paper whose founder wrote that "Bush was the worst president ever" doesn't show too much bias now does it?

http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/20070216/al16.art.htm

Or about this opinion piece that states in another shining example of "journalistic" integrity, USA Today has declared the Iraq war a total failure even as we are in the middle of it:

http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2006/10/2_wars_2_votes_.html#more

Can't leave out the USA Today's swipe at the Bush Administration with their intentional manipulation of this photo of Condi Rice:

condi%20PHOTO%20%20final.jpg

What kind of message was the paper trying to send when they doctored that picture to make her look eeeevilll?

The liberal media type their little hearts out trying to badmouth everything the President has done since he got elected, and to disparage and diminish everything good that the American military in Iraq has accomplished.

They will blow out of proportion anything that has gone wrong---all because "Bush stole the election" and "they want their power back" and God help us if that ever happens.

They try to shape public opinion to favor "their team" and will Stab America in the Back with their lies, distortions, and omissions. While this country is at war they should be muzzled.

For your consideration:

Think you can find anything written by a conservative mainstream media outlet that distorts, omits or lies about facts regarding a democrat? Don't go too far back---just since 2000 to keep it in context.

A little paranoid delusional huh?

Gallup has been pretty much THE credible polling institution for quite some time.

But, if you want some other sources to show some coorelation then you'll find plenty here:

http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm

Kinda make your republican lobbyist poll look even more ridiculous and clearly shows that the US public opposes Bush' course of action in Iraq and wants us out.

No polls are credible. They may show a trend but one word variations can mean a completely differrent translation of a question.

The words used are right there for you to see and when polls by 7 different sources show pretty much the same thing it becomes pretty credible.

The real polls that matter though are elections. In the last one the public clearly was not happy about the mess the republicans got us into and gave democrats control of congress so they do something about it.
