‘The Federal Government Can Do Most Anything in This Country’

see that's whats wrong with you people
you think a nutcase or an outlaw will observe
a gun law

no we say the folks that wanna shoot the nutcase
or the outlaw should have the means to do so

Since you think nutcases or outlaws won't observe a gun law you think we shouldn't have laws preventing them from buying guns? That's some strange reasoning.

or the outlaw should have the means to do so

If you shoot someone for simply being a nutcase that would make you an outlaw...then I guess people could shoot you.

You know when you type that stuff
I really think you believe it!

It's true. Shooting people for simply being a nutcase is illegal. It would make you an outlaw.

Seems like this should be common knowledge.

Disarmed?? You jest my friend.
Just cause we get to register our weapons doesn't mean that we have no weapons to register.

Whiose home will they go to first? You & your registered weapon or mine...without any registered weapons?
Let's ask the New Orleans residents.

Incorrect.

The provider is not REQUIRED to treat you. If it is a right, they would be.

Bullshit. There's really no difference in that regard in countries that view healthcare as a right. You are making things up.

Yeah, let's ask them. Were more registered or unregistered guns confiscated?

Spikey old boy you do know it is perfectly legal
for private citizens to shoot people doncha?

That's not slavery. We pay taxes to support our government and the services it provides our country. If you don't like it you need to move somewhere with no goverment.

LOL!

Rational?

Are you the official answerer to posts directed to Bish?

Taxes...you seem to have an issue with taxes and I suppose, welfare, unemployment insurance, medicaid, medical, veterans medical services as well. You don't like to pay taxes..go somewhere where there are no taxes. Zaire is nice this time of year.

I have no problem with reasonable taxation. Our constitution was set up that there would be only tariffs and excises. That portion of the law of the land has gone by the wayside.

Your taxes pay for lots of things that you use daily, even hourly. Whether they're local taxes, municipal, state or Federal. They're the contract you have with your country. You give over some of you money and it's used in conjunction with other people's money to pay for a good/service you get to use.

I haven't read this "contract" you speak of and I sure as hell didn't sign it.

The constitution does not require taxation. That came along in 1913. They have been thinking up new taxes ever since.

Are you aware that the income tax came to being after the SCotUS declared it unconstitutional? It was only after the constitution was amended that the congress gained that power. Also, that was the first time that the constitution ever declared a power to the congress, which they anointed themselves with.

Your Military/police/firemen are a good example. They too are paid with money that was taken from you under threat of force (the law). I suppose that the armed forces, cops, and firemen place you in servitude as well?

I guess you think that one out of three is sufficient to your needs. Police and fire personnel are not constitutionally mandated. Only the military is.

Up until the late 19th century police and fire services were handled using volunteers. Many cities still have volunteer fire brigades as it should be. We could lower taxes by a bunch if there were no professional firefighters being paid large salaries.

Which part is unacepteable? Taxes? Paying taxes? It doesn't matter who's in office... if you refuse to pay taxes, you've broken the law and the contract that you have with America (The Constitution). You will eventually get found out and arrested and then fined. Everything else you've said is pure paranoia.

There was no law until the greedy politicians made it up and amended the constitution to grant themselves power. That is not how it was supposed to be.

I follow the law, pay my taxes and reap the rewards of doing so. It's called being part of a society. The other side of the democratic contract.

Tariffs and excises were the constitutional means of operating the country until 1913.

Taxation with representation. Refuse taxation.. don't expect any representation.

I can live with that.

Yeah... you'll let anyone have a gun. Just out of the psych ward? There'll be a 2 minute delay in your purchase while I find a plastic bag to put your gun in. No charge for the bag.
"Where's the nearest YMCA?"
"Right next door..happy hunting!"

Boy! Talk about making things up out of a fertile imagination!

Up until GCA 68 there were no laws against a person with a record being able to own a firearm. It was that way from the founding.

In 1955, you could drive into a gas station, fill 'er up, buy a firearm and ammunition for same, and drive on down the road. No one thought a thing of me hitchhiking at age thirteen with my .22 rifle.

There were no school shootings then. The first of those came during the Clinton years. I wonder what changed. Could it be immorality? Even in the White house?

Let's ask the New Orleans residents.

The other difference is that one of you would willingly hand them over.

.We could lower taxes by a bunch if there were no professional firefighters being paid large salaries.

We'd have a shit ton of more fires and deaths without paid police and fire departments.

Up until GCA 68 there were no laws against a person with a record being able to own a firearm.

So you're saying you're for letting convicting felons and mentally unstable to be able to buy firearms without any check?

There were no school shootings then. The first of those came during the Clinton years.

Completely wrong there buddy.

I imagine there were plenty before '66 too.

The Federal Government is powerless!

Dang it Spike, haven't they outlawed school shootings yet?

Incorrect.

The provider is not REQUIRED to treat you. If it is a right, they would be.

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor (EMTALA) Act mandates that everybody must be seen and STABILIZED, without regard for ability to pay. But the emergency departments are not obligated to do anything beyond that.

In practice, though, the threat of lawsuits is always an incentive for hospitals to treat as much as they can.

If 'ability to pay' is what stops hospitals from proceeding beyond stabilizing and everyone is insured, then there should be no reason for hospitals to want to deny service beyond stabilizing.
