Activists from 0bama's circle of friends top supporters of anti-Israel protest ships

The group behind the Gaza flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli commandos today counts among its top supporters the friends and associates of President Barack Obama, namely the founders of the Weather Underground terrorist organization, William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink.

Earlier today, Israeli navy commandos raided the six-ship flotilla, encountering heavy resistance and live fire from the activists. Several activists were killed and dozens of others were reportedly injured, as were several of the Israeli commandos.

The flotilla was organized by the Free Gaza Movement, a coalition of leftist human rights activists and pro-Palestinian groups engaged in attempts to break a blockade imposed by Israel on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

Ayers, Dohrn and Evans' Code Pink have led several recent Free Gaza Movement initiatives, including attempted marches into the Gaza Strip. Dorhn was in the Middle East just last month on behalf of the movement.

Ayers and Dohrn were close associates for years with President Obama, while Evans was a fundraiser and financial bundler for Obama's presidential campaign.

In January Ayers, Dohrn and Evans were involved in provoking chaos on the streets of Egypt in an attempt to enter Gaza with the Free Gaza Movement to join in solidarity with the territory's population and leadership.

The three helped to stir riots after the Egyptian government refused to allow a large number of protesters to enter neighboring Gaza. Eventually, the protesters accepted an Egyptian offer of allowing about 100 marchers into Gaza. Once in the territory, those marchers were reportedly met on the Gaza side by Hamas' former Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.

WND's Klein rushes to connect Obama to Gaza flotilla by shouting "Bill Ayers"
May 31, 2010 5:25 pm ET by Jeremy Holden

Within hours of news reports of a deadly incident involving the Israeli army and a flotilla bound for Gaza, Aaron Klein and Jim Hoft found a way to blame Obama for the controversial international incident: yelling "Bill Ayers."

Earlier today, the Washington Post reported:

At least nine pro-Palestinian activists were killed and dozens were wounded aboard an aid flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip when Israeli naval commandos seized control of the boats in international waters early Monday.

An Israeli army spokesman would not disclose their identities or nationalities. Some Turkish, Israeli and Arab media outlets had earlier put the death toll at 19 activists and said they included as many as 10 Turkish nationals. The wounded were evacuated to Israeli hospitals and the ships were led into Israel's Ashdod port, where the passengers and aid supplies were being unloaded and screened. Seven Israeli naval personnel were also injured.

Sharp condemnations of Israel rang out from across the world, with several European countries summoning Israeli ambassadors to protest. The European Union called for an inquiry into the deaths. And the United Nations Security Council planned to meet Monday afternoon for an emergency session. The United Statesexpressed regret at the loss of the life and said it was "working to understand the circumstances of the tragedy."
Meanwhile, WorldNetDaily's Aaron Klein got busy trying to understand how he could blame Obama. Illustrating a shocking ability to turn tenuous connections into an absurd conspiracy theory, Klein wrote:

The group behind the Gaza flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli commandos today counts among its top supporters the friends and associates of President Barack Obama, namely the founders of the Weather Underground terrorist organization, William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink.

Ayers and Dohrn were close associates for years with President Obama, while Evans was a fundraiser and financial bundler for Obama's presidential campaign.
Right-wing efforts to portray Obama as "close associates" with Ayers and Dohrn have been repeatedly discredited. An October 3, 2008, New York Times article reported that in 1995 "at a lunchtime meeting about school reform in a Chicago skyscraper, Barack Obama met Mr. Ayers, by then an education professor." The article further reported:

A review of records of the schools project and interviews with a dozen people who know both men, suggest that Mr. Obama, 47, has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers, 63. But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called "somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8."
Klein's effort to connect Jodie Evans to Obama is equally flimsy.
To wit: the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Obama "dropped into an exclusive VIP dinner," during an October 2009 California fundraiser "for about 160 high-level party donors, some of whom wrote checks of $30,400 or more for a pair of tickets and the privilege of shaking hands and taking a picture with him.
The Chronicle further reported:

Jodie Evans, a co-founder of Code Pink, paid $30,400 for a pair of tickets to the VIP dinner, where she presented Obama with a petition from women in Afghanistan urging him not to send additional troops. Evans said she spent several minutes discussing the war there with the president and told him that the country's women "want a place at the table" in resolving the conflict.
In essence, in the face of an international tragedy, Klein -- trumpeted by Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft -- turned to weak and discredited "connections" to smear Obama as "pals" with the "violent" backers of the Gaza flotilla.

all the flotilla had to do was let um check it out, and they could have continued on,
but that wasn't their main objective.
The media coverage and spinning propaganda that we see now was,
and they accomplished that mission.

Make the Israelis look like evil infidels, yeah, that's the ticket.:retard:

yeah, it's not their fault, they were provoked, self defense in international waters and all. they needed to storm those ships instead of just forcing them into a port or taking some other less intentionally confrontational approach.

is that what the protesters wanted? perhaps. and they sure got them izzys hook line and fucking sinker huh? who's the weenie now, with widespread condemnation of israel all over the world? fucking suckers.

I'm not saying the Israelis are blameless.
I think the truths lay in the middle of this story.

I don't agree completely with either side.
I think on the Israeli side, they should have waited, and tried to communicate more.

ATM, I'm trying to figure out just what the views of this newer regime in Turkey is about on some issues.
Something is amiss with them lately.

In case you missed it the last few thousand times, it goes like this: use civilians to bait Israel into having to act in self defense. Then squeal like stuck pigs when Israel finally gets fed up and uses force to defend herself.

Hamas uses civilians the same way liberals use “the children”—as cannon fodder.

Israel and Egypt have imposed a blockade of Gaza to prevent weapons from reaching the jihadists who keep attacking Israeli civilians. Despite what the Jurassic media claims, humanitarian relief is delivered to Gaza from Israel on a daily basis.

Upon learning that the anti-Israel community organizer flotilla planned to crash the blockade, Israel directed the agitators to deliver their humanitarian aid to an Israeli port where it could be properly inspected for weapons before heading on to Gaza, which they defied; thus creating what the jihadi community calls a win-win for the bad guys.

Unfortunately for the martyrdom seekers in the group, the Israelis used their traditional restraint, defending themselves with paint ball guns. When the “peace activists” attacked Israeli commandos with metal poles, knives and baseball bats, permission was granted via the chain of command to employ deadly force. The “peace activists” carried quite an arsenal of weapons.

Gaza should be razed to the ground.

True Minks The Israelis should put out a communiqué stating:
Any further attempts to run the blockage will be met with force
we will consider it an of act war and sink any and all vessels
regardless of what flag they may be flying.

Wow... kitchen knives and tools. Yeah, the people on those boats sure knew how to repel a military boat!! Hey, wait a second..weren't they supposed to be carrying WMDs or summat to Hamas? Why didn't they use the RPGs, machineguns and rockets against the Israeli boat? They had advanced warning of the approach of the Israelis..plenty of time to open a few crates.

Hell, the baby on board could've put up a bigger fight.

International waters. If Israel wanted to stop the ships, they should've waited until the ships entered their territorial waters. You can't tell me that they aren't trained in how to secure a ship without killing anyone.

They overdid it..people got killed and now they're taking heat for it. That's how it works. Welcome to the WWWorld.

The unmistakable fact is, Israel did not go in guns blazing. Five ships were boarded without incident. Only one ship had a crew intent on resisting Israeli commandos.

Their actions were premeditated, and Israel had no choice.

Amazing that the "world" is outraged by the Israeli ship boarding, but not much "world" outrage happened when NK sank a SK ship....

Video: Right now, we face one of two happy endings: either martyrdom or reaching Gaza."

Reporter: "Despite the Israeli threats and several unexpected delays, the arrival of the ships at the meeting point before sailing to the Gaza Strip inflamed the emotions and the enthusiasm of the participants."

Visuals from Gaza flotilla ship of young Muslims shouting Islamic battle chant invoking the killing and defeat of Jews in battle:

"[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!"
[Khaibar is the name of last Jewish village defeated by Muhammad’s army and it marked the end of Jewish presence in Arabia in 628.]

Reporter: "While singing songs reminiscent of the Palestinian Intifada (Palestinian terror war against Israel, 2000 - 2005), participants expressed their longing to reach Gaza."

A participant: "Right now we face one of two happy endings: either Martyrdom or reaching Gaza." [Based on Islamic call before battle: "Either victory or Martyrdom".] (source: Al-Jazeera)

If I'm armed, and in hostility you approach me with a rolled up newspaper, I'll kill you dead.

That ship made off easy with what happened. It's blockade, that means your in a challenge that could end your sinking.

TWO more ships coming, it's about to get interesting.

Yep. al-Jazeera is the go-to source when you want to find biased reporting against anything that doesn't support the Islamist theocracy.

Apparently, Gaza really doesn't need the humanitarian aid so much:

Jerusalem (CNN) -- Israel has attempted to deliver humanitarian aid from an international flotilla to Gaza, but Hamas -- which controls the territory -- has refused to accept the cargo, the Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday.

Palestinian sources confirmed that trucks that arrived from Israel at the Rafah terminal at the Israel-Gaza border were barred from delivering the aid.

Israel said it had 20 trucks of aid found on the ships, such as expired medications, clothing, blankets, some medical equipment and toys.
