7up .... side down?

Perhaps Pepsi owns the rights to international sales, whereas Schwepps is the trademark owner for the US. Dunno...just a guess. :confuse3:

My family used to own the distrobution rights/services for 7UP.

No it is not. It is produced by Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc.

Here is their website: http://www.dpsu.com/

Now Dr Pepper I like... and root beer - it sort of reminds me of germolene, a pink antiseptic cream that came in a little tin, I believe you can still get it here. The smell of the germolene and the taste of the root beer are very similar, but then since taste is mainly governed by smell that's not particularly strange. :)

Pepsi and Coke license bottling rights for Dr Pepper/7up products, at least around the US. In Paso Robles, where I grew up, Dr Pepper is bottled by the CCE Bottling Group (Coke), and is distributed with Coke and goes on sale at the same time as other Coke products. In Fresno, although it's a mere two-hour drive away, PepsiCo bottles Dr Pepper.

In Dallas, Dr Pepper/7up bottles Dr Pepper itself.
