...And Justice for all???

It kills me that everyone thinks that blacks are the only ones with slavery in their past. There's not a race, creed, or culture that hasn't been enslaved at one point or another in history.

I pretty sure the same can be said about folks today, in 2005.

I want to be your dominated love slave
want to be the one who takes the pain
you can spank me when I do not behave
slap me in the forehead with a chain

'cuz I love feelin' dirty
and I love feelin' cheap
and I love it when you hurt me
so drive them staples deep

I want you to slap me and call me naughty
put a belt sander against my skin
want to feel pain all over my body
Can't wait to be punished for my sins

'cuz I love feelin' dirty
and I love feelin' cheap
and I love it when you hurt me

OK...so we all agree that slavery happened, and that discrimination happened, and that the holocaust happened etc etc...

and I'm sure that we all agree that it wasn't a 'good thing', nor is it something that we'd like repeated. Right?

so...if you see something like this happening...why not snuff it before it goes too far?
Doesn't mean it is & looks like it to whom?
nope..but usually, where there's smoke, there's fire.

Ended in 1863. It's 2005. That hardly qualifies as "just had". It' 5 generations before my birth. I wasn't involved. Nor was my father.

Ummm...1964. The Civil Rights Act signed into law by Lyndon B Johnson. Bad thing is, it only guaranteed the rights that were supposed to be given with the enactment of the 14th amendment. ;)

Slavery was not an institution, in the US, as of 1863. Seperate (but equal?) is still practiced, by both sides.

Slavery, no, but oppression, yes.

Don't tell anyone that it was the Republicans that got that bill passed in 1964 ;)

Because it had been federally outlawed & the state had no need to hurry

OK, if you say so. Just strikes me odd that one of them Union states so hellbent on exterminating their neighbors would tarry so on what was "supposed" to be the whole reason for their invasion in the first place. Things that make you go hmmm.

Alright, oh wisened sage of the confederacy, tell me, why should have Delaware (or any other state) spent time making redundant what was already illegal?

These days the feds require that kind of silliness (lower your speed limit or we won't give you your money as an example). It's a waste of time & resources.

How much time or money does it take for some lardass politician to stand up, smile for the camera, and propose the bill? Happens every day.

Then why was it still legal in Delaware as late as 1901?

Probably because Delaware is considered more of a Northern state or divided. Md I think might have some
