aol/time warner make massive loss

biggest loss in coporate history and ted turner to step down hits aol/time warner with a double whammy.

the overall loss for 2002 was close too 100bn dollars as a/tw had to write down the value of their assets. the loss for 2001 was 4.9bn and most of the heaviset losses were from the internet division of aol, with tw entertainments division strengthening performance with big hitting films like lord of the rings.

shares have dropped 70% since the merger in 2000.
