Mine was shit. I had the cord going from the video card to it, then the monitor hooked into that. The thing worked fine for a little bit, and then started to degrade the picture quality so much when it wasn't decoding DVDs that I thought my monitor was going out until I tried hooking it directly into the video card. I got so annoyed with having to reach behind the system and re-arrange the cords in order ot watch a movie that I plunked down some money for a regular DVD player... and as luck would have it, Samsung had a promotion at that time that let me score Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Any Given Sunday and Gone With the Wind, all for free.
