Baby Names

We've got a baby name set out if our upcoming baby is a little girl.
We still haven't set up anything if it's a boy.

We use 1 Spanish name, 1 English name, and my family name (which is French) *Example...Javier Alexander <---Bishjr.

Top 20- English boys names 2004 were:

1 Jacob
2 Michael
3 Joshua
4 Matthew
5 Ethan
6 Andrew
7 Daniel
8 William
9 Joseph
10 Christopher
11 Anthony
12 Ryan
13 Nicholas
14 David
15 Alexander
16 Tyler
17 James
18 John
19 Dylan
20 Nathan

Some are nice...

Our top picks for Spanish names are:
Caín, Jordan, Diego, Alonso, Rodrigo, Ramon, Iñigo, Gabríel, Lucas, Julían, and Tristan.

So...which ones do you like?

I like purposely *not* picking out of any top anything lists. Then there aren't a bajillion of the same kid in the poor child's year.

We too had a formula in mind if we ever have another kid. The boy would have one Biblical and one "old time authentic sticks" name.

Thus, should SnPII ever conceive:

Aaron Coy

From your list, I like Lucas

Scratch Caín, Jordan, Iñigo and Tristan.
Gabriel, Julián <--- This is how these two are written.

Some names in spanish (not necessarilly from spanish origin) that come to my mind:
Roberto, Alfonso, Eduardo, Francisco, Luis, Ulises, Carlos, Ernesto, Gerardo, Hector, Rodrigo, Ignacio, Antonio, Mario, Rogelio, Ismael.
*brain hurts* I have this difficulty when thinking of names.

My takes on those names,

Caín, - he'd get laughed at cause a) Cain itself, b)Cain the Pain
Jordan, - ok, but too trendy, and a girls' name now more than a boy's
Diego, - Princess Bride comes to mind, Porn
Alonso, - the guy from Silver Spoons - kids might not know about that one but it would've been a laughing stock when I was in school
Rodrigo, - Porn, Princess Bride
Ramon, - Porn
Iñigo, - Princess Bride
Gabríel, - You can try for Gabe all you want but the kids will call him girly Gabby
Lucas, - Star Wars - ok if you don't mind the connotation
Julían, - Like Gabby, Julie
Tristan - too trendy

That being said, you should use the old world tradition of endless naming the lad.

My name is Roberto Alfonso Eduardo Francisco Luis Ulises Carlos Ernesto Gerardo Hector Rodrigo Ignacio Antonio Mario Rogelio Ismael Gendron Montoya ... you killed my father ... prepare to die.

:rofl4:

A friend of mine named his son Grayson. I thought that was totally cool. My sister named her third son Conor which is nice. I like Zachary too but it's been overdone.

I also like Bradley. Other than that, I'm no help. :( :)

Porn and Princess Bride?!? Interesting combo there, Leslie. You must have fascinating dreams. ;)

Maybe it's cuz I ain't no sci-fi nerd, but I never would have connected Lucas and Star Wars. Until Leslie pointed it out. Even then it took a minute.

I first thought of Lucas McCain...wasn't that a TV cowboy or sumthin?
