Nobody will agree, but my favorite intro to play with a band is Mustang Sally. Everybody knows it (mostly) and everyone plays it basically the same.

Is that really your favourite intro to play?! On the drums it's basically *bom* *pap* *bom* *pap* and the guitar parts are a bit zzZZzzZzzz too. Decent groove (especially the WP version with that choppy guitar riff) but not very interesting.

My favourite soul intro to play (discounting all of the Tower Of Power stuff) is definitely "Midnight Hour".

I guess it's my arrangement of Mustang Sally. You know what I mean, it's blues, so everybody can keep up while I play what I want. I only play out at jams anymore, so it's important to play stuff everyone can keep up on. I would never suggest that we play my swing version of Summertime, for instance. Midnight Hour is another good one though. I always liked Wilson Pickett.
