Boys arrested for stick figure drawings

This zero-tolerance crap is ridiculous. (well, duh)

And, by the way, Florida is not the only state to pull this kind of nonsense. Zero-tolerance laws are federally mandated.

Zero-tolerance policies

In 1994 Congress passed the Gun-Free Schools Act, which required states to legislate zero-tolerance laws or risk losing federal funds (Martin 2000).

Other pieces of scrap paper listed misspelled profanities and the initials of the boy who was allegedly threatened.

Apparently the English department of the school needs to be locked up too.
How hard is to spell fuck, shit, cock, pussy, cunt, dildo, asswipe, asshole, asshat, motherfucker etc etc etc.

I doubt the morons were cursing out the boy in flowery language, that they had trouble spelling.

Pathetic. Your own freedom enforcements will end up taking away your freedoms.

A few years ago, my kid made a drawing, and wrote "fuk" on it. Apparantly he was aiming for some kind of shock effect, just for the fun of it. He handed it to me, asking what I thought of his drawing. :lloyd:

I commented on the drawing, and then made a dry remark about the word being misspelled. Poor kid, he was so disappointed. Especially when I just laughed at his in inquiry for the proper spelling. :mope:

but its cute in a way. just tell him the proper spelling.

Sharky: Sorry if my comment about Floridians offended ya. Not all of them are bad old friend

No worries, dude . . . it's true that there a LOT of wackos down here.

I think a lot of people up north have misconceptions of what it's really like in Florida. The Panhandle and South Florida are two completely different worlds. Frankly, there's no way in hell I would live in South Florida myself.

Those two boys are clearly a serious menace to society at large and should be put to death!

What's to keep the boys from retaliating with a scene depicting the judge involved in some illicit sexual contact with barnyard animals? Nope death IS the only thing that will cleanse this scourge from our midst!

How 'bout amputation of hands? Can't draw then. Unless they learn to... Yeah, better take the feet too.

Oh darn, what about those who draw with their mouth.. No, you are right. Off with their heads!

I know it seems harsh but once this type of thing begins
to spread only heaven knows where it could end.

Nip it
nip it in the bud !

No one has ever asked you to babysit their children before have they?

Yup, no need for cops. A mental health assessment would fully fill any public obligations, and mental health doesn't use cuffs restraints.

The police episode will only exacerbate the condition of the kid long-term, provided there actually is a condition existing.

Ignoring this stupid drawing would be even better. Unless these kids have a history, they're just kids.

You're beginning to understand Luis. Be careful, we'll have you in the EVIL CONSERVATIVE INDUSTRIES in no time.

They were in special ed, and had somewhat of a history.
They were kinda terrorizing another kid with that.
I agree they needed punishment, but bringing the law in at this time,
IMO was un-called for.

Special Ed is now defined as ADHD & needs a babysitter. It's a label for special treatment.

Kids by nature are cruel with each otherm they don't do it intentionally. I believe that behaviour is meant to enforce the child's own character, make him less vulnerable and able to defend himself.

Repress the whole "child terrorizing" and you'll end up with a bunch of faggot whiners.

Actually no I have never found myself in that role.
Perhaps my last statment has something to do with it?

Oh, yes, they do. However, unless we're getting into the area of causing bodily harm to another (beyond simple schoolyard scrapping), it should be the parents' job to correct the issue, not the cops.

Oh wait, I forgot. That would require parenting.
