The problem is interference.

The Arabs "come to the resue" of their brethren against those evil Jews. So, to even the tables, the US arms the Israelis.

Allow the Jews & the Palestinians to finish it off would end it. one way ot another. However, that can never happen. Somebody, somewhere, has a stake in this. My money is on Saudi's & Iranian Presidents.
 
USA would ask S.A to stand down in such an event and let Israel trounce on all comers for a bit...then use any attempts from Syria or Iran stepping in as an excuse to invade.

Closer to home, I would be more concerned about the looming possibility of war with Mexico ... again. There is already a small war raging just across the border in Tijuana. War may be the only way to kill off the cartels which are causing all of the unrest in Mexico.

They don't use missiles...they use mules ;)
The end result does more damage than the craptastic missiles Hamas is launching towards Israel.
