Canada inching closer to becoming 51st state.

There is a basal difference between picking on a cuture and way of life and attempting to change traditions and saying that a government just plain sucks. You don't need to not be Canadian... you just need a little corruption shakeout... all governments do.

I think most Canadians would jump in the ocean and swim away before they let that happen.

My boss was trying to look cool in front of some guests from Canada the other day and said, "They should make Canada the 53rd state." and I said, "The 53rd? Can you tell me what 51 and 52 are?" lol what a maroon.

51 is supposed to be Puerto Rico, 52 was supposedly going to be Samoa ... at least thats what the plans were back in the 70s before social upheavals, war, and economic depression deerailed it all.

Justintime, I'm Canadian. And American. And I would very much like if they would shake hands and make up. There is very little difference between them anways except the fact Canadians like being "not American", which is a sick definition in itself. The local traditions and stuff won't be replaced my American beliefs.

there's gotta be something different, the way you're constantly going on about detesting it here... :retard:

She's got a pretty good point there, LL

Whatever, I enjoy living in either countries, prefer the States for its conservative views compared to the rest of the world, and would like it if Canada becomes part of the United States, even on a small scale like sharing military powers. Right now a lot of law enforcement is shared, pretty soon military, and with NAFTA perhaps more economic policies.

Hmmm...I wouldn't mind being Canadian, if it weren't for some Canadians being bung-holes here...Just like some Canadians wouldn't mind being US citizens, if some US citizens werern't being bung-holes here. I'd never want to be from the UK, though. They still insist on spelling the word color wrong... :D

I could deal with colour, its favourite that I would have a real problem with, well, that and fucking sheep.

Which makes me sad that an entire country (let's face it, many countries) hates us so. Everyone has dealt with stigmas surrounding the place that they live and knows that it doesn't feel good to be judged based on geography--yet it continues, constantly.

Ah well, I still love my country even if everyone else hates it. It may not be perfect, but it's my home. :)

One of the major differences is America is a melting pot of culture,Canada is more accepting of diversity. The gun thing would also be a major sticking point with most Canadians. Oh ,and don't forget Quebec, you really think the US would let them keep their "Unique society"
