Weapons are going south.... drugs are coming north.
Criminals and people with criminal intents are one thing, but you have a FAR greater number of people coming up from Mexico for perfectly peaceful reasons...to work, or as refugees from the current drug cartel wars.

Invaders is a nice emotionally charged (incorrect) word though..you keep right on using it.
 
Close to 45% of the illegal aliens in your country aren't there because they crossed illegally...they're there on expired visas. That is, they came in legally and applied for citizenship but their visa expired before they could finish the process.
 
But its illegal for a foreign national to cross the US border illegally. I really don't care why you want to come here, we have laws about this stuff.

expired visa means its time to leave now, thats the point of the visa.

  1. I think I'm going to go purchase a new ford 550super truck on credit. Maybe i'll just steal it.
  2. I'll make 5 payments and then stop paying.
  3. Then i can just keep the truck because I want to drive it and I need it for work.
Sounds like your logic for illegal immigration

I take my numbers from census sites and the gvts' immigration sites. They even have a nice breakdown of where illegal immigrants come from.

Less than half are from Mexico, a chunk of the rest are from south-america followed by asia, europe and africa.

Sounds like nothing I've proposed.

You've got close to half the illegals in the USA on expired visas. A visa acquired for any number of reasons. Finding work and education being the top two. Someone wanting to become an American can speed up the process by finding work, but obviously the process isn't fast enough to accomodate the relativly short visa.

PersonX asks for a pre-immigration visa. While on the visa, s/he applies for immigration and tried to find a job. If s/he finds work, great for them. They can continue living in the USA while their request goes through - it's far easier than applying for immigration from a distance. Bureaucracy is a slow beast. The visa expires, but s/he has a job and maybe a small apartment and some goods.

So... quit the job, sell everything and move? That's your solution for close to half the potential immigrants? "Sorry our red-tape makes everything so slow - fuck off!"

Seriously? Then you wonder why so many don't bother applying for a work visa or immigration. c'mon. Wake up and smell the coffee.
