I have no problem paying per pound for the garbage I toss .... right after they remove the flat rate garbage tax I already pay. Frankly, I highly doubt it's gonna do the local supermarkets much good, tho, since 90% of my non recyclable waste comes in the form of packaging from them. Buying directly from farmer's markets and butchers leaves very little waste that doesn't make good compost. But then, so many of these places that are so fucking uppity about recycling don't allow you to have a compost heap, to they? Promotes scavengers. And of course, in my district, the recycling only passes every second week, unlike the twice weekly garbage pickup.
