Does size really matter?

In some African cultures, being fat is a sign of wealth, too... mainly because it means you can afford food.
 
i think American and European cultures are the only ones besides maybe a few(and thats a big maybe) where slim/slender is considered attractive.

I dont know... I think global exposure to western ideals through hollywood has influenced quite a few cultures. especially asia and europe. and with technology only improving, I dont see that effect decreasing any time soon. tall blonde blue eyed cheerleaders are becoming the global ideal.

It used to be in European culture as well, just like being tan was a bad thing because it meant you had to work outside. If you were pale, you were rich because you didn't have to labor in the sun.
