okay gato, this is the last thing i'm saying about this.

there are behavioral/procedural rules that exist in the military that are there to make sure that fucked up shit doesn't happen. that's fine. and obvious. no boozing in the barracks or boners in the bums while it's time to fight ze germans. whatever.

the gay thing is a rule of an entirely different nature and level. it is a categorical rule excluding a certain group of people from serving their country as themselves. and it's a stupid rule.

what kind of assumptions link those two levels of rules together?
