F***in SUV's

Love this one from Gato's site
sheetmetal.jpg

the hom-made sheet-metal wing (oversized) plus the blower out the front. :lol2:

Looking at those Pic's reminded me that the only time I felt the benefit of the ground effects
and the tiny wing that came stock on my 98 Ford Contour SVT was when I drove it to it's top speed of 143 MPH.

Two words. Insurance fraud.

Some butthole did that to me once and I threw the rest of my Taco Bell taco out the window at him.

I get a big laugh out of those dinky little cars with those giant "spoilers". As a long-time race fan, I know those things have absolutely no effect what-so-ever on rear downforce at legal speed limits. I practically have to pull over and laugh myself silly when I see/hear one of those tinny little toys.

Guess some teeny-boppers have more money than sense.

My drive of choice is a Lincoln Town Car. Found out my ass likes those big, comfy seats with the built-in butt warmer. The trunk holds everything I could possibly take to a race, with room left over for souvenirs. Even crammed the left rear quarter panel of a race car in it.

As for the giant SUV's --- I wouldn't own one, although I do like the height. Since I'm somewhat vertically challenged, it would be nice to be able to see a bit farther down the road.
There are times around here in the winter when 4-wheel drive might be nice, but I cope --- I just stay home! LOL

*picturing a small-statured woman sitting in an SUV, and the only thing visible when the door is closed is knuckles on the steering wheel... :rofl4:

We retro-fitted my old Suburban with power seats so I could raise my height in the car. You could definitely see me. LOL

But I have seen cars/trucks/SUVs driven by ghosts. ROTFL

Picture it? Heck I married it!

Not TRL, another small....oh screw it, you get the idea.

I like the height of my SUV, but other than that I hate it. It's a piece of crap Ford that eats WAY too much gas and takes way too much $$ to fill it up.

However, it was a free car and the insurance isn't TOO bad on it.

Depends upon how the mirrors are angled, now dunnit?

I know. Mine are out enough so that I can only just see the rear of the car. I'm looking almost straight back...

It ain't SUV's. Idiots drive every style...well, BMW drivers are especially obnoxious.

Fuckin' A. My old supermarket's disabled parking was ALWAYS taken up by BMWs, and other expensive cars, so they could watch their car whilst they shopped - y'know, so it wouldn't get stolen. Too bad about those disabled people huh?

I prefer not even seeing the car (I'm in, of course  ). You know where it is.

Note that my wife hates this and feels she has to be able to see the car.

BTW, the wife drives an SUV (4runner) and she manages to drive, park, etc. without cutting anyone off or hitting anyone.

You can't watch her all the time ;)

This is my favorite pic off Gato's site:

Too bad for their tires and paintjob, you mean. I try to discourage people like that whenever possible. More than once, I've warned a driver that if he left his car there, I'm pay that bunch of kids on the corner to "detail" his car. Only one guy didn't believe me and move.
