I realize that you advocate limitations on personal freedoms by the state on this issue though.

It took a long time for blacks and women and other groups to get their civil rights. It might still take some work before gays get theirs. One day when a larger percentage of the old bigots die off probably.

Until then we still have a large number of people that want the state to limit freedoms. It's un-American and we will one day look back on this with the shame that we do about women's and racial rights.
