The United Nations claims it is investigating about 150 allegations of sexual abuse by U.N. civilian staff and soldiers in the Congo, some of them recorded on videotape.

The charges include accusations of pedophilia, rape and prostitution, said Jane Holl Lute, an assistant secretary-general in the peacekeeping department.

Lute, an American, said there was photographic and video evidence for some of the allegations and most of the charges came to light since the spring.

This is just my take on what your saying Les. Are people fucked in the head to join the military? No, not that I'd say so. It takes a certain kind of person to be in the military and the people that wouldn't be up to it are weeded out in the psych tests I would imagine.

Now being in the military in a combat zone would have a profound affect on ones psyche.....pressure and your life in threat does strange things to people eg. check the marine who shot that Iraqi prisoner. Maybe it does stranger things to some people that it does to others...who knows.....or maybe they are just fucked in the head in the first place
