Burger King restaurants in the UK were forced to remove and replace ice cream containers across the country because a Muslim man said the swirly image too closely resembles the inscription for Allah and is therefor sacreligious, reports the Scotsman.

Burger King said the image on the lid of an ice cream desert is supposed to look like a spinning ice cream cone.

But Rashad Akhtar of High Wycombe said he wants to put a Jihad on BK for the snafu, or at the very least a boycott. "This is my jihad. How can you say it is a spinning swirl? If you spin it one way to the right you are offending Muslims," he said.

**end**

*sigh*

Just shoot this fuckin idiot now and let life move on.

Unfortunately, you're not allowed to kill people out of hand for stupidity. It sure would clean up the courts and schools though, wouldn't it? :grinyes:

Not legally anyway.

I dont know if any other Muslims would have been offended. Probably just him. And if he is offended let him eat elsewhere

Ooh, ice cream! :lloyd:

Its also against Muslim law to have anything that depicts the image of a person. I'm sure theres 100s of 1000s of 10s of thousands of products that violate their 'sensitivities'. Where are the complaints against that? Get over yourself.

So much for opening a photo shop in Iraq.

The more I thought about this, the more in wondered, since when do customers of Burger King see the top of the containers of the ice cream? I worked for Burger King in my younger days, and I don't remember giving any customer a container of ice cream.
