Gas Prices starting to hurt?

I'll have to do some math here...but it's abouot 79.9 cents per liter for gas up here...

how much is it for a gallon down where you are and has it gone up or down recently?

Not sure, its went up, but i don't dare pay attention. At 15mpg overall, and below 10mpg city (almost all my driving is city :(), and considering the fact that I must use premium gas, I choose not to look :( Actually, I have no idea what it costs. Maybe around $1.80? Does that sound right? I really don't know. I'll have to look tonight.

Just went down here, sitting around 1.45 a gallon now. High was around 1.65 a couple weeks ago.

About 2.06$us/gal.

I did a cost effectiveness study of building an electric car to commute in in January. Needs to get to about 2.85 USD per gallon to make it break even. Batteries are very expensive and last on average 3.5-4 years. That's the killer. Anyone got a better idea? I was thinking hydrogen fired steam turbine, but I'm afraid it would involve too much fabrication for my meager skills, ignoring the problem of hydrogen extraction.

I haven't looked lately, I've still got half a tank left after driving 100 miles...

Central Coast CA. .....1.89 regular. I'm supposed to use premium but I don't Premium gas is without question the biggest scam going in the petroleum industry.

...unless, of course, you own a late mode Porsche or similar vehicle that requires the higher octane due to the detonation profile of the piston/ cylinder.....in which case I guess you really shouldn't care about the price of gas....

About 2.06$us/gal.
I need to clarify here. The 2.06 figure is converting the 79.9/liter into US terms. My local gas right now is 1.39

The Texaco next door lowered its price a few days ago from $2.11 to $2.09. Wow.

Jeslek - keep in mind that British gas costs about the same pre-taxes as it does in the US.
