Not with obama-biden you don't.

WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it's some of the best entertainment he's seen recently. What do you think?

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama's comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn't being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment.

"Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama's running mate. "No," West said.

West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America's days as the world's leading power were over.

"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden shot back.

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."

Here's a link to the interview: http://www.wftv.com/video/17790025/index.html.

WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, "When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes."

Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.

"Mr. Biden didn't like the questions," Jordan said. "We choose not to ask softball questions."

Jordan added, "I'm crying foul on this one."

What did you think of the interview?

OK
(COLORADO SPRINGS) It was less than two weeks ago when Sarah Palin astonished her traveling press corps by lifting the curtain (literally) and journeying to the back of her campaign plane to answer reporters’ questions for the first time after 40 days on the campaign trail. But the candidate who has been criticized for having a bunker mentality when it came to the national media can now lay legitimate claim to being more accessible than either Joe Biden or Barack Obama.

can now lay legitimate claim to being more accessible than either Joe Biden or Barack Obama.

That is a laughable claim by that blog. This one however shows what happens when she lets her guard down to a 3rd grader.

She doesn't even know still what the VP does and yet there's reports today that she's "gone rogue".

Sarah Palin is turning into a rogue vice presidential nominee as far as the GOP is concerned. Reports are coming out daily that Palin is ignoring the advice of the McCain campaign advisers as well as the Republican party.

But, that’s what John McCain is running on isn’t he? Touting her “maverick” style. Well it appears that the McCain campaign is having trouble reeling Sarah Palin in

According to Politico’s Ben Smith, there are "stirrings of a Palin insurgency."

From the story:

But Shapiro is willing to give Palin the benefit of the doubt for saying the vice president is "in charge of" the Senate, suggesting she is using "her usual homespun language" to describe what could ultimately be a powerful position, as it has been for Dick Cheney.

"Governor Palin was responding to a third grader's inquiry," Maria Comella, Palin's spokeswoman, said about the response. "She was explaining in terms a third-grader could understand that the vice-president is also president of the U.S. Senate." (But which some adults at OTC cannot -- j)

The scope and power of the vice presidency, Shapiro says, ultimately depends on how the president structures his administration. He notes that a Republican vice president can have a significant role in developing policy in Senate caucuses. Cheney, he noted, has been very active in lobbying senators and pushing President Bush's agenda.

"It depends what you mean by 'in charge,'" Shapiro said, noting that the vice president is the titular head of the Senate. "Is there anyone 'in charge' of the Senate? Is the speaker 'in charge' of the House?" He argued that at no point did Palin articulate a role for a vice president that overstepped the limits of the Constitution.

Bullshit, I think a 3rd grader would be able to understand that the VP is not in charge of the Senate. Apparently she can't though (and some adults here don't).

Onto the topic at hand, eh

So...first the interviewer tries to paint Obama with a Marxist brush..Biden answers the question correctly. Then she asks a question/makes a statement re: a quote taken out of context from Biden..and he corrects her...then she re-asks the same question, trying to once again paint Obama with the Marxish brush.

No kidding he doesn't want to talk with her again. Those weren't questions..they were statements by the interviewer hidden in the form of a question.

If that's the best that news station can come up with, I don't see any reason for either Biden or Obama would want to waste their time with her, or her station.

Like they don't want to waste their time with those who, more and more, are asking themselves those same questions? More people are starting to wake up to Obama's socialist marxist leanings.

Read this thread. Watch the video. He is a socialist through and through.

You may be willing to take a chance with my country but I am not. Keep the socialists up there where they belong. We would be happy to send you one more whose initials are BHO (BlowHard Obama).

"The defenders of the status quo have always tried to tear down those who would change our nation for the better," Biden said. "They said Thomas Jefferson wasn't ... a real Christian. That was the essence of the campaign against him. Well, does that sound familiar?" he said.

"Ladies and gentlemen, they said Abraham Lincoln ... wanted to take away individual rights. Ladies and gentlemen, they said Franklin Roosevelt would destroy the American system of life. Sound familiar? And ladies and gentlemen, they said that John F. Kennedy was, quote, 'a dangerous choice in difficult times.' ... Sound familiar?"
yep, all that turned out to be true too.

What he said was that instead of giving the rich a tax break, it's better to give that tax-break to the middle-class. How is that Marxist? It's about as Marxist as Reaganomics and the trickle-down theory...

More like they don't want to waste their time with a republican campaign plant.
Well it turns out that her husband, Wade West, is a political and media consultant for Republican politicians. The GOP talking points Barbara West used in her interview may have come directly from the McCain Palin communications team via her husband Wade.

More people are starting to wake up to Obama's socialist marxist leanings.

Actually more people are waking up to these silly scare tactics and so McCains campaign is floundering.

Nope.

We would be happy to send you one more whose initials are BHO (BlowHard Obama).

Looks like we're going to be keeping Obama.

She didn't ask Biden if he is a Marxist. She asked:

You may recognize this famous quote: "From each according to his abilities; to each according to his needs". That's from Karl Marx. How is Senator Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to 'spread the wealth around'?

Her question was about Obama, his agenda, and his political ideology.

OK, if we don't get a new sounding post within the next three, I`m gonna sound the buzzer and ask that this thread be closed, as all useful arguments have been made.

More like they don't want to waste their time with a republican campaign plant.

Using your premise, so what? Answer the question without smartassed noises & smirks.

This campaign has been bottle fed from the beginning. Ther have been no tough quetions (now we know why) and all accusations/background material has been filtered by the same media that ius supposed to ask these questions.

It's amazing, there's been more information on Joe the Plumber (a guy who asked a simple question to a guy strolling his neighborhood looking for handouts & handshakes) than to half a dozen unscrupulous members of Obamas life. Why is that?

Actually he just recognize it for what it is and call them on it.

Actually no, the McCain campaign has gotten a lot of passes while the Obama campaign has delat with a ridiculous number of stupid accusations blown up by the media.

McCain made sure the media focused on Joe the Plumber by mentioning his name over and over again. That should be pretty obvious.

However the so called "unscrupulous" have also been examained again and again starting in the primary. There's just nothing there.

However you always ignore the really unscrupulous friends of Bush and avoid answering questions about them and genrally give them a pass. Why is that?

Can we agree on one thing.
BUSH IS NOT RUNNING & WILL BE OUT OF OFFICE IN JANUARY. He's not a factor here.
