I'm not saying he doesn't deserve what he's getting, I just think it's been blown out of proportion.

When this case first made the news the death penalty was on the table and I thought that was definitely excessive. They were hookers. Should they have been? No.....but then I get to thinking that never in my life have I seen an eleven year old asian girl that looked more than 13. He should have known, yes....but the death penalty?
Anyway, I'm glad he is going to jail for this...but the man is not a violent, menacing, steal your daughter from her bedroom at night kind of guy. He is a dumbass that hired 2 waaay young asian prostitutes who went willingly to get the money. 3 years in a Vietnamese prison is good.

I can't say I remember anything about Vietnamese charges of child pornography and to be honest with you I had forgotten about the earlier charges.

He was jailed in the UK for having a huge amount of child pornography on his computer, then went to live in Cambodia, I think. They kicked him out. The British papers have obviously been keeping an eye on him.

I'd have no problem executing adults that pursued & bedded 11 year olds. That would include all the adults in these childrens lives.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I am NOT CONDONING his actions. But these girls WERE PROSTITUTES! Do johns generally make a habit of IDing their hookers? He may not have realized they were as young as they were, part of the appeal of asian women, so I have been told, is that they stay young looking longer...of course my arguement to this was before I was reminded of his kiddie porn collection so that is going out on a limb....but anyway, he didn't abduct little girls from the playground. He deserves jail time and is going to get it.
The parents of the children are another story, if the girls were being forced into this line of work than I argee that the parents and pimp, if any, should be severely punished, you can kill them all you want to...Hell, you can kill Gary Glitter if you want to, no real skin off my nose, I just don't think he is the most evil person in this whole mess.

I can honestly say I have never heard of Gary Glitter ... and I agree with pretty much everyone here - all parties involved - parents, johns, Glitter, the girls - need to get something out of this. Parents, johns and Glitter need an ass whooping, jail time, whatever .. but the girls need therapy or something along those lines. I know it's a pipe dream because the problem is so large but it has to start somewhere.

I know that. It's just that these kids were 11...peehaps we've got different mental images of 11 year olds. I picture flat chested, skinny, pig tailed girls, with barely a hint of the future women they shall become. Some 11 year olds are more physically mature than that, granted, but not many. Had these kids been 13 or 14 I would not be so disturbed...because of the physical differences (since men are aroused by sight)...but I would still want his balls in a vise.

I picture Pippi, not Lolita.
