Which is why some of us are so bent about the system.
If it hadn't been for the Revolutionary war we would already be there.

that's a pretty flimsy chunk of conjecture. if it hadn't been for the revolutionary war the entire historical trajectory of england may have been quite different and perhaps IT wouldn't be a nanny state.
I suppose it's possible... we don't know for sure, though. Additionally, Colorado would probably still be part of Mexico... unless you think America under British rule would still have carried out the manifest destiny.
yeah it's a giant and terrifyingly naive stretch jim.
you obviously haven't seen enough bad sci-fi to know what happens when you fuck with a time line.

I love time travel movies because it is always fun to prick holes in the probability -- except this one. The only time shift/travel movie which actually could be possible. Asimov had his shit together.
That's because he cared about the science. I met him once.
Ah, yes, everything would have been exactly as it is now had we not thrown off British rule. Got it.
You don't have to look that far, dude. Just look North a bit - to Canada. The USA might've been pretty close to the same as it is now, but LARGER, as Canada would've been part of the USA, or .. vice versa.
Might've been called the UPA (United Provinces of America) instead.
As long as we didn't have to say shit like, "bloody hell" and "Bob's your uncle."
