Heloooooo Governor

(CNN) -- Dropping a political bombshell, New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey announced his resignation Thursday after revealing that he is gay and that he carried on an adulterous affair with a man.

With his wife standing quietly by his side, McGreevey spoke in calm tones as he described his struggle with his sexuality, "a certain sense that separated me from others." It was something that he said began as a child.

"At a point in every person's life, one has to look deeply into the mirror of one one's soul and decide one's unique truth in the world, not as we may want to see it or hope to see it, but as it is," McGreevey, a Democrat, said.

"And so, my truth is that I am a gay American," McGreevey said.

yeah, good for him...

i didn't follow the story...so why did he have to resign then?

He had an affair behind his wife with a man. He didn't want the rest of his term to be filled with rumours, allegations and secrets. He decided to come clean and resign.

Honorable thing to do.

What are you saying? Good for him? Are you nuts?

He's an admitted adulterer
acknowledged that he had an extramarital affair

He's torn his childrens lives apart
McGreevey has two daughters, 9 year old Morag and nearly 3 year old Jacqueline. He is married to the former Dina Matos

He lied to the people of New Jersey who thought they were electing a family man.

He surrounded himself with trouble
Those caught up in recent scandals were his first chief of staff and former counsel; a top Democratic fund-raiser and former high school classmate; and real estate developer Charles Kushner, McGreevey's biggest campaign contributor, who was charged with trying to thwart a federal campaign-finance investigation by luring a grand jury witness — his own brother-in-law — into a compromising position with a prostitute and sending video and photos to the man's wife.
and if I recall this is the man that the Democrats & their judicial buddies illegally put on the ballot.

This guy is a piece of shit & his sexual orientation is irrelevent.

He's also an accused sexual predator.

WABC-TV of New York reported that McGreevey was expecting a lawsuit by a former aide accusing him of sexual harassment. The station identified the former aide as Golan Cipel, who resigned as McGreevey’s security adviser in 2002 after months of questioning about his credentials and job qualifications.

He used to say "this is my wife". Now he says "hey girlfriend".

I think it's great he was 'honest' with the public. But an affair is an affair, regardless of whether you cheated with someone of the same or opposite gender. And toting your wife around doesn't make it okay.

Being 'honest' with the public? You call what he's been doing 'honest'? I found his whole speech to be a calculated, and cold, delivery of his misgivings to be almost totally without remorse. He wasn't being honest. He was engaging in 'damage control'. After an entire lifetime of being 'confused', he picks a short time before his life is exposed to be honest, and you bought into it. Not that I blame you. He sounded sincere, but he didn't look the part. His hair was too well-coiffed, his suit was too well-pressed, and his delivery was bland. Almost entirely non-emotional. At least Clinton faked emotion after he got caught...

Yeah, he came out with the truth; just like Clinton did once the blue dress was in the hands of the FBI for a week. Yeah, that’s honorable.

This is the Vanguard of which I spoke of in another thread, the secret world of the homosexual agenda of social engineering.

Another example of support for the Vanguard by a heterosexual, err . . . a homosexual undercover, in a high position of power. He is a dishonest man. He didn’t show his true colors (rainbow). He has been an ardent supporter of the homosexual agenda under the guise of an enlightened and progressive heterosexual. He is a fraud and a part of the Vanguard.

He has promoted homosexual issues in the state under the guise of being heterosexual supporting the Homosexual agenda, yet he was an active homosexual involved in at least case sexual impulse control. (promiscuous infidelity) are there more? I would guess yes.

So he placed an unqualified person in a role to create policy based on the sole qualification of being homosexual? Being a “poet” did not qualify him for the job so they eventually moved him to “special counsel”. (Did they have a jester too?)

Two sources close to McGreevey, both speaking on condition of anonymity, said the man involved in the affair was Golan Cipel, an Israeli poet who worked briefly for the governor as a homeland security adviser despite having no security experience. ($110,000.yr  )

I wonder if homosexuals placed in positions of power have a fair ratio to the populace under this guy?

There seems to be several scandals under this fellow, including several other undeserved appointments.

The Vanguard is far more real then you think. I have persoanlly worked under it and have seen it widespread.

I also find it to be quite interesting the AP story does not identify as a democrat until the third paragraph.

Since he has shown his propensity to be dishonest and was elected under fraudulent pretense of values. He should turn the choice of his replacement to back to the people. I hope the pressure forces him out lets the people have their right to elect their governor on their values.

RM, I think you've give the homosexual community credit for a level of sophistication and organization that simply doesn't exist. On the other hand, I heard somewhere (my sister is a New Jersian) that this clown is about to be sued for sexual harassment by a male co-worker. That's why he went public. How honorable does he sound now, Rose?

Ooh, liberal bias.

Had he been a republican, it would have been in the first sentence. Count on it.

I never meant to imply I thought he was honorable, though I do admit I was initially amazed at his "courage" for announcing what he did. Granted, I hadn't had a chance to see any of the actual speeches he gave, but instead had only cnn.com to read the information from.

I heard that last night, too. Definately 'honesty' for damage control. The three guys I saw speaking on the subject briefly on one of those news channels last night ... they kept insisting that he did good, but continually missed that an affair is an affair.

He was definitely forced out of the closet.

Did you read the story, he appointed the guy to a top position that makes policy simply because he was a homosexual poet. How many lower level jobs did he give to other homosexuals?

I don’t think I am giving too much credit to the homosexuals, The bug was planted in my ear a number of years ago and I have seen it play out over and over again.

I have seen homosexual repeatedly promoted quickly and unduly to positions while passing hetero’s that have seniority.

I have seen thesis papers that are pro-homosexual or by homosexuals be allowed to use hundreds of hours of other peoples productivity time to collect data while refusing access to the system because the papers may be harmful to homosexuals.

The top 4 administrators in our local system are all homosexual, and over 1/4 of the supervisors system-wide are gay.

. . . it's a "family" thing ;)
