Here we go.

Not to try and put the blame on another person or country, but what about the driver? I've yet to hear anything about him/her. What about weapons in the van? Were there any found? The whole thing has got me thinking that just maybe these people, the woman and children, were being forced against their will and the driver knew this would happen.

Ok, it does sound kinda far fetched, but when we see the Iraqi forces forcing civilians out front of their own troops, then the theory does seem plausible. One other thing is what were they killed with? A 5.56 or 7.62 round?

Now, again, I realize this sounds real far fetched, especially when we consider the lack of information regarding the incident. I'm not trying to change the blame here, but the possibility does exist however remote it may seem.

As awful as this is, look at it from a different perspective. There are documented cases of Palestinians using pregnant women (or those dressed like one) in ambulances with high explosives. It may not be Palestinians only, those are the ones I'm aware of.

When the big red sign has 8 sides & says STOP, do it.

Foxnews Link

Kinda confusing, they have conflicting reports, but warning shots were 7.62, but it sounds like what killed them were 25 mm from a Bradley. There was one man listed as wounded, but don't say if he was the driver.

Pray tell, how do you make a determination of who or what they are unless they stop? They had no idea that it had so many people, or that there were even women present. The entire purpose of stopping and checking is to make just such a determination. They aren't psychic.

cant really but civilians dont drive military vehicles do they? they were civilian cars from my understanding.

So was the Taxi that blew up 4 guys last week. So are most of the Iraqi Militias vehicles. Read up on it Freako, this isn't a normal war.

most homicide bombers are civilian. 2,3,4 wimins & children visible could easily conceal a van full of RPG & AK47 wielding militia. this is war & the rules change.

define normal. war is war is war. these are just tactics theyre using to win. as much as they are repulsing its what Iraq is doing.

dont they lose the term citizen for it when that happens? im not sure but i thought that they werent considered civilians when holding a weapon of any kind

Imagine how pissed you would be if some country invaded the US, set up a checkpoint, and used it as an excuse to blow away a minivan full of women and children in Indiana.

Put yourself in their shoes, flavio. Yesterday, a cab driver drove up. Stopped, just like you told him to, got out of the cab, just like you told him to, let you look inside, just like you told him to, opens the trunk, just like you told him to, and blows himself and five of your close friends to smithereens. The van thing is horrifying, I agree. What would you have done differently?:confuse3:

P.S. If it's going to come down to our guys or their guys, I'm going to vote our guys every time.

Exactly. The point is that it doesn't matter if it's a civilian vehicle or not. That does not mean that it's civilians inside. They don't play be the same set of rules we do.

they werent using them as excuses. they were saying they didnt stop. there really isnt an excuse to do what they did. the stop points are for their own protection yes but whos going to protect civilians from everyone with a goddamn waeapon.

Look, as I've said earlier in this thread you can't condemn the soldiers that did this. I'm asking if you would be pissed if it happened to a minivan full of women and children in the US.

Point is, many more incidents like this and this "liberation" is going to become even more of a farce than it already is.
