Here we go.

33 more civilians killed today.....

....in an airstrike on a residential area. 11 people from the same family.

Among them was Razek al-Kazem al-Khafaji, who said he had lost his wife, six children, his father, his mother, and two brothers.

He said the family was fleeing fierce fighting in Nasiriya, further south, when they were attacked.

"God take our revenge on America," he was reported as saying.

If saddam wasn't using mosques & civilian areas to store his military equipment & soldiers this wouldn't be a problem.

Here, give China shit & leave the coalition forces alone.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - A hoax report about the killer virus sweeping Hong Kong sparked panic food buying and hit financial markets on Tuesday, and the territory's government said it was placing more than 200 people into isolation camps.

Yes Freako. They have enlisted civilians to help them. The suicide bomber that was driving a taxi last week wasn't wearing a uniform. How exactly are going to tell if a person is a civilian or military when they aren't wearing a uniform, in a vehicle, and they're coming at you at 30mph?

nice timing... Propaganda warning

A Shiite Muslim cleric in Iraq claims the driver of the van at a U.S. checkpoint in which at least seven women and children were killed was forced to disobey the soldiers' orders to stop, thereby causing the civilian deaths, reports Fox News Channel.

Mohammed Barkir Al-Mohari said in a translated videotape that the incident outside Najaf in southern Iraq on Monday was purposely set up to give Saddam's regime grist for criticizing the United States.

After delivering repeated warnings to stop, U.S. soldiers fired on the van, which carried 13 people, according to the Pentagon, when the driver failed to stop as ordered. The military is investigating the incident.

Yesterday, another Iraqi was killed in a similar incident at a checkpoint near the south-central town of Shatra.

''In all cases in checkpoints and otherwise we maintain the right to self-defense,'' Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks told reporters while discussing the van incident. ''We've increased vigilance because of the tactics of Iraqi death squads.

''While we regret the loss of civilian lives, they remain unavoidable,'' he said.

''They tried to warn the vehicle to stop; it did not stop,'' Marine Gen. Peter Pace said on PBS. ''And it was unusual that that vehicle would be full of only women and that the driver was a woman. So we need to find out why it was that they were acting the way they did.''

The soldiers involved were from the Army's 3rd Infantry Division, which lost four soldiers Saturday at another checkpoint when an Iraqi soldier posing as a taxi driver detonated a car bomb in a suicide attack.

Al-Mohari also claims the suicide bomber that struck over the weekend was told if he didn't carry out his mission his family would be killed, and that Saddam's regime gave the man's family hush money.

Fox says Al-Mohari, whom the network describes as an "influential cleric," says families have been threatened with mass killings and even chemical attacks in recent years if they didn't follow through with orders from the Iraqi regime to sacrifice themselves in suicide attacks.

"Those people, children and women, were put in the [van] by Saddam Hussein's forces," Al-Mohari said, "and their husbands and fathers were taken as hostages. And the driver was ordered to speed up at the checkpoint and not stop so that they would be shot at."

in cases like this because they are using civilian vehicles its hard to tell. but i wont justify killing of innocence or civilians. but they are using civilians as weapons and some are not to welcoming to americans

PRO-SADDAM Hussein militia in Basra are using children as young as five as human shields and threatening men with death if they do not fight for them, British troops revealed yesterday.

Sergeant David Baird, a tank commander, told Martin Bentham, a journalist with the Sunday Telegraph newspaper, that he had seen at least four or five children, aged between five and eight, being grabbed by the scruff of the neck and held by Iraqi fighters as they crossed a road in front of his tank.

Ok sure, I don't understand. Go ahead and explain what that has to do with the thread.

IN A REPORT published Wednesday in the Miami Herald and other Knight Ridder newspapers, Bakhat Hassan said American soldiers had waved his family’s car through a checkpoint as they left their village Monday. But at the next checkpoint, the soldiers fired.

“We were thinking these Americans want us to be safe,” Hassan, 35, said through a translator.

Hassan, interviewed Tuesday by a Knight Ridder correspondent at the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital near Najaf, said 11 members of his family were killed in the incident — his daughters, ages 2 and 5, his son, 3, his parents, two older brothers, their wives and two nieces, ages 12 and 15.

His wife, Lamea, who is nine months pregnant, said she saw her children die.

“I saw the heads of my two little girls come off,” said Lamea Hassan, 36. “My girls — I watched their heads come off their bodies. My son is dead.”

U.S. officials originally said seven were killed; reporters at the scene placed the death toll at 10. Hassan’s father later died at the Army hospital. A brother who is being treated there may not survive, a doctor said.

Another brother, a sister-in-law and a 7-year-old child were released to bury the dead.
