How many miles do you put on your car?

But if you drive 25 miles what do you do the rest of the time? Wait to be loaded? You could probably spend most of your shift sitting in the truck reading and waiting to be loaded no?
 
Can't sit in the truck at GM. Hardly enough time to read-although there are runs that one could read War & Peace in a week. Drop & hook, constantly. I actually sit & do nothing (lunch & breaks included) for about 2.5 hours a day. The paid hour is an about :20 segments.

But how many hours does it take to drive 25miles? Not a full shift for sure...
 
8 hours...driving in circles. 8 hours, driving back & forth, across the street, (less than one mile r/t), 8 hours of hopping in & out of trucks (about 7 in/out repetitions per trailer)...
