Try eating meat, you skinny thing. That or save up a quick $300 to buy a monster wool thingy from the Bay to smother you in warmth.

I had one, it was my favouritest, but all the "fur" fell out of the hood for whyever. I guess age. One of these days I'm gonna buy the blanket and make the homemade coat. It's one of my life goals.

I don't aim high.

I bought the missus a heavy duffle coat for christmas. All wool, nearly full length on her, weighs about 20lbs dry. She's a happy camper.

Nevermind :)

I live in the U.S. Where can I purchase Hbc point blankets?

Woolrich, Inc. holds the exclusive licence for Hbc blankets in the U.S., i.e. they are the only company allowed to import them. They are available from Woolrich, L.L. Bean and Getz Department Store. All these companies offer the blankets for sale on their websites.

Getz sells 2 color styles for $390, LL Bean for $399 in different colors, Woolrich was insane. It would have ot be an online order as the nearest retailer is damn near in Maryland.

Now I need to figure out the exchange rate to see if I need to get one of you Cannucks to buy it for me and ship one down.

(I'm just dreaming here... only take me half seriously)

1 CAD = 0.849066 USD

EEK!

Thats almost a wash... and after customs and shipping it would surely be a loss. Nevermind x 2.

I just wish I could hold one to see if it is really something that I need or really want. It might just be too much blanket for this climate.

Here's an idea. Drag yourselves up here, and I'll see that you find your way to a Bay store which supplies them. You can fondle them to your heart's content. You could even grope the missus's coat and if you like them, I could have a couple sent down next winter. Then you wouldn't need to be afraid of the cold ... it would be afraid of you.

I saw them. i'm not sure I share Rob's enthusiasm but I wouldn't mind a striped one for on the couch...but it's the last thing we need- another couch throw.

Yeah, lots of people say that .... right up until they've curled up under one.

But...this is Georgia. Can you justify the price for the brief period of time it could actually be used?

Yup. I can even justify the cost of a bear skin rug and a fireplace.

Remember when I was down there wearing synthetics and you guys recommended cotton as being cooler? I trusted you guys because you live with that heat. Trust me when it comes to cold. The only thing that beats wool ... is down. And take a wild guess what's on my bed. Now ... down, you could never justify.

But it's just not cold here
And Rob is less susceptible to the cold than me. He uses a thin blanket on the bed and wears shorts in the winter. I just don't see us getting much use from the thing.
