Just how far did you think a thread about DBZ could go? If you want it to survive on a purist path you need to nurture it a bit better. Toss in more DBZ links or outline the basic concept for those of us who dont know what the heck DBZ is.

It's an anime show created in Japan by a team of anime-tors, based on the original Dragonball/Dragonball Z story (manga) by Akira Toriyama.

Without understanding Dragonball, it's hard to understand DBZ, so in a nutshell, the main character who is a little boy sent from a planet far away to the Earth to destroy everything on it so that the people on the planet he's from can auction it off to the highest bidder, gets his head injured in his infancy, forgetting that he's a boy with the power of an entire army, and so turns good and protects the Earth from evil. Dragonball is based on this boy's (and a few of his friends') battles against an evil army who is being commanded to collect and return all 7 dragon balls, so that the leader of the army can wish for immortality (the dragon balls combined can give you pretty much any one wish you want, except to revive a person who's already been revived with the balls once).

Dragonball Z is the sequel series, it starts several years later when the boy is all grown up and is mostly centered around beings with incredible strength whipping the crap out of Goku (the main character) and his friends until he gets angry and transforms into a super-saiyan (a legend in the Saiyan race tells the story of an incredibly powerful Saiyan that existed 3,000 years ago and prophesizes that another one will emerge in 3,000 years time and overthrow the Saiyans' enslaver, Frieza; Goku did it, but just barely too late cause only 2 full-blooded Saiyans were left by that time)
