Stewart and Colbert are more entertaining and no less accurate than more traditional news sites...

In fact, I read a report that says that more folks under thirty get most of their news there than any other single source. Scary but not too surprising.

Have you noticed yet that more traditional news shows are now daily showing clips from the Daily Show and Colbert Report as discussion points?

Because they are accurate and they are right on top of things.

I just have one question.

Forget everything you may know or even think you know about anyone on this board for thirty seconds. Throw your own bias and opinion about the topic out the window. Just ask yourself this one thing and answer honestly.

I mean, for real. Dude, you may or may not have a valid point or two. But that alone blows your credibility with anyone capable of adult thought processes. I have my issues that I hammer on. I be damned if I'd ever enter into a debate with anyone and use something like that as ammunition. If I wanted to (and I would) present information that exposed abraham lincoln as the dictatorial despot war criminal he was, I think I'd more carefully choose my source and eschew anything from The Onion. Same principle here.

I don't agree with your argument or your stance on the topic at hand. Relying on Comedy Central to make your points is ludicrous at best, pitiful at worst. If that's the best place to find consenting opinions to your own, maybe you need to understand why most of us are laughing at your points.





Or not, as will likely be the case...

It goes towards the mentality that serious problems and situations are jokes and because he is far removed the reality is not aperant. Same way he tried to make a convincing argument that the UN is the cure all when it cannot solve it's own problems, it only creates them...

yeah i'd FAR prefer the imaginary problems and imaginary solutions (nevertheless costing hundreds of billions) pushed by so-called "conservatives," far removed from the reality that is, um, aperant.

I was wondering how the 'less traditional news shows' will yuck it up when they talk about this:

Easy, they make great points. Other regular news outlets quote them and use clips from these two shows on a regular basis because of that fact and also because their able to get pretty important political figures on a regular basis.

So if you have some issue with the point being go ahead and make it. Otherwise this is just a cop out and the umpteenth time you've also tried to act like you speak for other members here.

When I say something about Rumsfield wanting to cut and run and the video is of Rumsfield talking about cutting and running how are you going to bitch about the source? :laugh:

I get my news from a variety of sources. What speaks volumes is that you can't make a counter point except to bitch about the Daily Show and Colbert Report and whatever sources you are getting your news from had you believing we are at war with all muslims :laugh:

Volumes are being spoken all right. Shouted even. As most Americans will do, you will choose what you hear and what you don't. Your perfect right and not being questioned. Laughed at maybe, but not questioned.

I know who our enemy is. I act accordingly. That includes not voting them into my congress, not defending them, and paying attention to what they and their leaders say and do. My perfect right. If the unearthly attraction to be PC at all costs compels you or anyone else to defend these lower forms of life, so be it. I won't. Fitting in with social degenerates, mishaps of DNA, outcasts by choice, and religious zealot madmen ain't as high on my list of Things To Do Today I reckon.

But, to each his own and a little more.

A muslim was voted in, not a terrorist. But you do have the right to believe what you want. Our enemy is terrorism. Regardless of political or religious affiliations
