BAGHDAD, Iraq - A roadside bomb containing sarin nerve agent exploded near a U.S. military convoy, but there were no casualties, the U.S. military said Monday.

I was wondering how long it'd take ya to post about this one Gonz. :D

Now If they will just interrogate the people over there, in that area,
maybe a big cache might be discovered.
I still think there's plenty of all kinds of stuff buried under the sand there somewhere.

Aww Gonz! You beat me to it. Found it on Yahoo this morning.

I'm wondering if the people who placed this one actually knew what they were using. Seems like they just found a shell and planned on using it to take out a truck or something. If they'd known that it was Sarin gas...then they'd have placed it and detonated it from a higher location, so the gas would've spread.

Looks t'me like someone found a shell in some stockpile somewhere and didn't know what they had at all.

Hmmm,.

so no, these are NOT the WMD we where waiting for

but thank you for playing

please come again

The WMD do not exist, maybe they really thought they did exist, but right now they don't.

A war head that is filled with sarin, "is not" a wmd??.....
OK
I won't even try arguing with that.

it is a WMD but not the ones th US was looking for, one shell from the iran iraq conflict, not a stockpile

Which the fucker swore he didn't have.

You're right Catocom. Can't even argue with this.

some farmer has a old shell in his barn, and it's a conspircy to invade country.

I think that they should have invaded to get rid of saddam...I thik using the WMD was a valid excuse, they went thinking they would be found, but they weren't.

Now everytime something shows up, they jump saying it's proof of WMD

well when they find an underground bunker full of toxic shels, and manufactoring equipment to make more, then it is proof

one OLD shell is nothing.

Considering the lack of rights to keep and bear arms under Saddam, why would a farmer have a shell sitting in his barn that he put there under his own free will?

Is this enough?

A senior Bush administration official told Fox News that the sarin gas shell is the second chemical weapon discovered recently.

Two weeks ago, U.S. military units discovered mustard gas that was used as part of an IED. Tests conducted by the Iraqi Survey Group (search) — a U.S. organization searching for weapons of mass destruction — and others concluded the mustard gas was "stored improperly," which made the gas "ineffective."

They believe the mustard gas shell may have been one of 550 projectiles for which former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein failed to account when he made his weapons declaration shortly before Operation Iraqi Freedom began last year. Iraq also failed to then account for 450 aerial bombs with mustard gas. That, combined with the shells, totaled about 80 tons of unaccounted for mustard gas.

It was just an Idea, who knows how they got it.

but it cold have happened, he picked it up as a souvenir, thinking it was a dud.

jsut saying one shell does not prove massive amounts ofweapons, and wepon producuing facilities.

Now you're talking Americanisms...there was no 'barn' and it wasn't some 'farmer' who put it there. It's some Iraqi soldiers who either found an unexploded shell and decided to use it, or a shell that they bought or were given through the blackmarket. It this had come from a hidden bunker somewhere, you can damn well believe that it wouldn't be being used stupidly like this.

Like I was saying...one or more shells found and being used by individuals.

Sarin has a very short shelf life ,maybe 5-7 years ,and Iraq was never able to use refined base components so when they did have it the shelf life was under two years.A stockpile of Sarin could hardly be considered a WMD as its completely useless except as a projectile.

All except for this one. Oh, wait, two. Oh, wait....

we are talking claims of HUGE stockpiles, enought to pose a threat to US on US soil.

I am sure they have weapons, they have been killing US soldiers, but come on, it's no-where near what was claimed.

My point is, and was everytime something that can blow up is found we have people jumping up and down yelling "WMDs, WMDs".

I want real proof, I want an underground bunker, I want manufactoring equipment.

3 shells, a AK-47 and a molotov cocktail do not an invasion make
