Israel threathens Assasination(s)

Israel's defense minister warned Tuesday the incoming Hamas prime minister would be assassinated if the Islamic militant group resumes attacks, but the acting Israeli premier also pledged a drastic cut in spending on Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and others in his front-running Kadima Party delivered these messages just three weeks before the Israeli election. The centrist Kadima is trying to court both hardline and dovish voters, and has been sliding in the polls.

Party officials have been more forthcoming recently about their post-election agenda, apparently in hopes of stemming the erosion in voter support. This week, Olmert's key security adviser said Israel would dismantle more West Bank settlements and try to draw its final borders in the next four years.

Another key campaign issue is Israel's position on Hamas, which won the Palestinian parliamentary elections in January and is poised to form a government. Hard-line candidates have accused Olmert of being too soft on Hamas, which is sworn to Israel's destruction and refuses to renounce violence.

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz of Kadima told Army Radio on Tuesday that Israel would not hesitate to assassinate Hamas leaders if the group resumes attacks against Israel.

Asked specifically about Ismail Haniyeh, the designated Hamas prime minister, Mofaz said: "If Hamas ... presents us with the challenge of having to confront a terror organization, then no one there will be immune. Not just Ismail Haniyeh. No one will be immune."

Oh...great way to harbour peace. Threathen to assasinate a democratically elected leader. :retard2:

Wasn't Hamas' credo "death to Isreal"? Doesn't that pretty much amount to the same statement ... except including civilians?

Yeah, I guess it's better than when Israel has done that. Good point.
Yeah, I guess it's better than when the Palestinian state has done that. Right?

I don't know...Israel usually takes out a lot more people.

According to the article they got two kids in an airstrike on an ice cream truck :(

.....and they still plan on building more settlements in illegally occupied terroritories.

But a suicide bomber took out 5 kids the other day, and that's better?

so this new PM runs a political party that has been KNOWN to make terrorist attacks.

If the Terror attacks continue, he will be killed.

what is the problem, at that point he is just once again running a terrorist organization, wipe him out.

The Israeli defense minister works for a government that is KNOWN to make terrorist attacks, just killed two kids, and he's now making assasination threats.

Should probably wipe him out right away.

If Israelis kill more civilians than Palestinians but you call it "military actions" are those civilians better off?

"The record of Israeli terrorism goes back to the origins of the state - indeed, long before - including the massacre of 250 civilians and brutal expulsion of seventy thousand others from Lydda and Ramle in July 1948; the massacre of hundreds of others at the undefended village of Doueimah near Hebron in October 1948;...the slaughters in Quibya, Kafr Kassem, and a string of other assassinated villages; the expulsion of thousands of Bedouins from the demilitarized zones shortly after the 1948 war and thousands more from northeastern Sinai in the early 1970's, their villages destroyed, to open the region for Jewish settlement; and on, and on." Noam Chomsky, "Blaming The Victims," ed. Said and Hitchens.

Not really... they want the 'state' of Israel removed...not the people in it. In other words...get the hell out of Palestine and stay out.

Hamas...need I remind the lot of you, has been part of a cease-fire for 1 1/2 years now.

If someone from Palestine...who may or may not actually belong to Hamas and/or be under their control attacks Israel, the defence minister of Israel will assasinate the leader of that nation.

That's paramount to saying that if some 13 year old high-school student in San Diego goes ape and shoots up his school, that Dubya will have the Governator killed.
