Is it actually red or is it just an euphemism for communism?

It looks just like this one. It's got a red plastic (similar plastic to a bank-issued checkbook) cover that the book's cover slides into, but I've never taken the book out to see if that's red too or not.

Thanks for the info - I remember seeing in 'The Red Violin', a scene where thousands of Chinese are walking the streets holding up their 'little red book', and it was red, but wondering if that was artistic interpretation by the director or a correct reflection of reality.
