I'd support that. These folks' handlers will never allow it, though. All we get from the campaigns is the type of non-debate we saw last week and will see again tonight.

All you can really go on is past record, both for Bush and Kerry. While you might disagree with it, at least the former is running on recent record, not some shit from 35 years ago.

If I was Kerry, I'd have fired my campaign manager months ago.

If he was smarter, he'd have said something along the grounds of:

"Yes, I've changed my mind. I was for the war and the money for it, because my president was. When the WMDs and the main reason for going in proved a white rabbit, I changed my mind. I don't follow my leaders blindly, and I certainly don't expect anyone else to do so either..." and let the people chew on that. He's not likely to do it though. Pussy-campaign manager.

I'm wondering if tonight's debate will go any better. Maybe Bush's handlers will hit him over the head and tell him to stop going "uhm" all the damn time and just learn to pause dramatically. Getting him to stop saying that every single thing he's asked about was "difficult" or a "tough job" would be good too.

We know that being the President is difficult...his job is to make it look easy and moral as if there could be no other decent decision than the one that he'd made...you know, decisive!

You won't see Bush tonight. It's Edwards and Chaney.

Have to wait for Friday to see the head assholes. Tonight's the "heartbeat away" assholes.

That just about perfectly captures my take on this whole election.

Looks like the recent debate did some good for Kerry. Depending on which place that you go to, of course. :D

Resmussen reports has Bush at 48.6% and Kerry at 46.1%
CNN has Bush at 49% and Kerry at 47%
USA Today has them dead even at 49% each
Fox has Kerry ahead 45% to Bush's 44%
Time has Kerry ahead 51% to Bush's 44%
And the Washington post has Kerry ahead with 49% to Bush's 48%

So... who's opinion do you trust and what do you think of the results?

Have you ever seen the people who actually call to poll voters. They are the dregs of the earth. I worked in a supervisor position a long time ago and believe me the pollsters are half baked, literally, passed out from heroin or having alcohol DT's on the station table. Earning enough money to get another dose of poison, nevermind half of them were the homeless. While they are unbiased, due to being intoxicated and therefore oblivious to politics, they also do not have the patience to wait for an answer from the voter while taking the poll.

This was my experience first hand with McQuire research company here in Reno, Nevada. The polls were for numerous states in the USA and for various elections and ballot issues.

I don't think an argument based anywhere but experience has any merit where polls are concerned.
