hey great come back there Cheeky!

and Ray-gun presided over the fall of the evil empire
and the end of the cold war that Truman started!

and slick willy was single handedly responsible for
the booming 90's and Algore created the Internet!!!
Congratulations on competely missing the point. I'm not really surprised though. Go on about your business.

Oh no I must have your eternal wisdom and guidance
to navigate the foibles and pitfalls of the geo-political territory of the turn
of the century middle-east to fully comprehend the present day situation we find ourselves in...

*ahem* [cough]B*llsh*t[/cough]

So does that constitute your entire response to the
drubbin' Cat flayed down on yer not so admitted Liberal fanny?

Good work Cat

respond to to that slap-down there cheeky!
I didn't mean it to be an "in your face" type response....
Just.....

I'm not a super huge fan Of GW Bush, or Bush41, .... but it's no secret that
I absolutely despise Clinton.

Too many people it seems would still vote for Clinton today...
People seem too willing to over look all the mistakes he made.
Any time I get a chance to remind, or show his 'record' of failures, I take it.

IMO, he was the most corrupt pres. in my lifetime.
If he'd gone 4 more years, I believe it would be 'totally' horrifying right now.

I'd like to point out that this quote attempts to define the difference between a politician and a statesman.

I got that cat. You're probably right about Clinton, although Nixon was no prize either, IMO.

The only difference between the two is that Nixon stepped down when he got caught. Clinton fought tooth and nail. Strange how Clinton is more revered, isn't it?

You could be right there.
It was almost before my time....
I'm too lazy to do all the diggin' on him. :p

Nixon got caught playing hardball politics & was, generally, an unlikeable fellow at a rough time in our history.

Bill is a liar.

So was Nixon. At least he had the good grace to resign when he got caught.

Honestly, I don't think he knew about the break in in advance, but he certainly lied to help cover it up.

From what I've heard...it was the "cover up" and not the actual crime that
Nixon resigned for.
Yep he lied, but you see the difference in the respect for the office then and now...
or the 'perception' anyway.
Clinton took most all that respect away...GW IMO has tried his best to bring it back
from such a devastating blow, ...
and dignity back to the perception of the USA as a whole.
It's a shame that so many in this country don't get that. :(

Some do.

Funny how people who either not yet born or still in short pants at the time Nixon was president only can recall Watergate. The truth of the matter is quite different.

I can recall much more...including the line "Sock it to me?" Nixon was the first television president, so he was under much more scrutiny than those who came before him. He's also the president that started our withdrawal from Vietnam...a war started by and lost by Democrats and their constant meddling...and filled in the White House pool...

Oh, I had an Archie Bunker/Nixon T-shirt, but I was too young to care about politics.
I didn't even like watching news then. :lloyd:
