Has anyone seen, pictured the red planet yet? I have been out a couple times, but its to cloudy to really get a good look. DAMN rain and clouds.
If anyone does see it and can get a picture could you please post it? Ive seen the NASA ones but its just not the same.

You're not really missing anything, Sam. It just looks like an unusually bright star.

I've seen it several times but it was a little cloudy last night. Like Skarky said, it's nothing more than a really bright orange star in the sky. I have an old cheap pair of binoculars but they didn't do any good. It's suppose to be at it's closest point tonight. I'm seriously considering looking into renting a telescope if I can find one.

I have a telescope which I'm planning on using if/when the skies clear up enough AND I can get somewhere where the light-polution isn't so bad.

My problem is that my telescope doesn't have the correct lens adapters, so I couldn't take a pic of what I saw. I can't afford the correct one either, unless you happen to have $300 US t' lend me within the next few days

Tonight at 1am in the UK if the sky clears... but it's not looking promising...

I'll have to make do with looking at it through binoculars though...
