May in Indiana

Remaining ignorant of made up history ain't no skin offa me schnozola either I reckon.

Now don't you red-staters git no ideas about ceding when Billary takes office ya hear?

What happens if we see this information & don't agree with its conclusion? I'm free of ignorance & disagree with your assesment of the Civil War.

I read an assessment of the civil war and the agrarian south that summed it up nicely in a few paragraphs.

Seems nuthin's much changed down thar in 140 yars.

Then we already have a rub. America never had a Civil War. A civil war is one in which two opposing forces battle for control of one government. That never happened here. What we had was one section trying to peacefully leave, and another trying to force them to stay. Thus, I refer to the struggle as the War of Northern Aggression.

And boy howdy did the evil north ever win!
sheer logistics. where were all the factories? where were all the ships? up north. once the supplies ran out the south never had a chance.

pssst, where was all the food? An Army travels on its stomach.

Left to rot in the fields when the Southern boys left and defended their homes from invasion. Much of it was looted by the Yankees, as well as the processing facilities burned.

Fer a expert on civil war history
ya know they were defeated before it began.

I read a piece on the conflict recently that pointed out
if the north would have gotten it's stuff together
and embarked on the brilliant campaign of
General William Tecumseh Sherman
sooner, a lot of lives could have been saved on both sides.

We will see how "Civil War Two" plays out.

Didn't he rampage into the South and burn it down?
Isn't that what you do to the enemy's home ground?
Like what Patton did to the Germans in WWII?
Heck he did the South a favor by helping
to bring an end to the hostilities.

Besides isn't your affliction with the events from 140 years ago
quite similar to the blacks of today whining about having once been slaves?

My "affliction" lies more with what happens today. Anybody who thinks it ended at Appomattox has never lived here. Nonetheless, you can't change tomorrow until you understand yesterday and act today. Understanding yesterday has been a fascinating journey of discovery. If it bores you, move on.

"Anybody who thinks it ended at Appomattox"

That's hard for me to grasp.

"has never lived here"

nope if I moved there and folks started goin' off about the not as of yet resolved civil war,
I'd certainly wonder about them.

What is (are) the issues that remain unresolved 140 years later?

Bring back slavery?
Allow the South to cede tomorrow morning?
The South is still not equal to the rest of the nation?

What's yer beef?

As for boring me…
I’m typing onna chat bored ain’t I???

(oh look here comes wifey, hey honey wanna mess around)?

I used to drink only Coke, but then they screwed it up, and I switched to
Pepsi, and have been with it ever' since. Um except I mostly drink coffee now,
and have switch to Sam's cola to drink just periodically.
You think RC goes flat quick... You have to drink this Sam's Cola
right after you pour it, before ther bubles go do if you want ANY fizz. :D

Seriously though, Sam's, and RC, both hold the fizz longer if you keep um
cold in the frig, so it doesn't melt the ice so quick.
[Donald Trump] "You should be paying me for this!" [/Donald Trump]

Jebus Dood what are you whining about
