i bought my vid 3 years ago [aiwa] as an ntsc compatible video recorder. it will play ntsc vids fine, although with old tv i had to adjust the vertical hold to get a picture.
it works great, my alien legacy box-set and copy of ford fairlane are testament to that )
most new videos sold in the uk are now ntsc compatible, just look for the label.

Yes, i was not sure at the time, thought it might be incompatiable, but Paul (mufu) informed me that it would play if it was a fairly new model, its a 3 month old sony, not too bad a buy
