Last time I checked, it was the W and not the aesthetic sense that was important.

It is for those all important pro bowl selections. Can't go to the pro bowl without a unique 'diss' and a showboat celebration dance.

Quite true that the W is most important... but those of us that are watching it at the time are concerned with the aesthetic aspect. Bread and circuses; gotta have a good show; a riled crowd buys more lite beer and replica jerseys.
