no good thing goes unpunished

a mear 3 hours after my good fortune with the massachusettes state lottery :D , a local cop pulled me over for speeding. :grumpy:

got me on radar.
43 in a 30.
$110 + mandatory $25 for the head injury foundation.

I've talked to my share of state police over little things like 86 in a 50.:headbang:

i dont really care about the ticket. hell, i waste more than that when i go to the casino.
its the 6 years of surcharges and hike in insurance premiums that get me.
i'd be willing to pay twice that amount in fines if i dont get points on my insurance. wouldn't even contest it.

one ticket shouldn't make your insurance go up. Although, there may be more to the story :D

happens here. massachusettes residents got so good at bilking the insurance companies that the state stepped in and took over. there is NO competition between insurance companies. the rates are the exact same across the board. any type of citation gets points added and hikes up your premium. the insurance companies also got the state to ok a hike in the surcharge from 3 years to 6.
that $110 ticket can end up costing around $500-600 over the course of 6 years.
to say that registering and insuring a car here is a pain in the ass is an understatement.

i've heard that jersey is bad, but i think its worse here. the grass is always browner on your own side..

contest all tickets. even if you lose it gets the traffic cop off the street for awhile. :D

Communist republic that elects Teddy over & over. You guys need to revolt.

The last time I got caught speeding I got tagged for doing 99 on I-5 between Portland and Salem. Anything over 100 and you lose your licence. No questions asked.

I got tagged with a $650 ticket. Ok.....no more of that shit for me. I can't remember the last time I even went 5 miles over the speed limit since then.
