In La Belle Province, all passenger vehicles cost the same. Too damn much. About $250 per vehicle.

Annually? Ouch.

In Georgia the tag fee was based on the vehicle's replacement value, but in Florida it's based on weight. My truck's tag cost $235/yr in Georgia, across the border in Florida it is $42. Did I mention we don't have state income tax in Florida? :p

And, NO-FAULT INSURANCE SUCKS.

No income tax, but it looks like an average 2% higher sales tax than GA (couldn't confirm local option rates, since FL can;t put an uncorrupted PDF file on their server). We won't go into property taxes. Ugh. Your millage rates appear to be about 10X ours.

They got you one way or the other.

It'd be nice to get investment income out of the state mix, though.

Sales tax (including local options in Panama City) is 7.5% (food items are exempt), and tourists pay a "bed tax" on hotel/motel rates.

I didn't know Atlanta Metro millage rates were that low.

That link takes you to a site with labor force info, county profiles, business climate, quality of life, etc.

All I know is that the ex came out of a store one day to find some ass had t-boned his dad's car...jammed the door all to shit...and if they had gone through insurance THEIR insurance premium would have gone up due to no-fault insurance

Oh, and btw...I PASSED MY FINAL DRIVING TEST :swing:

Actually, I miscalculated. Cobb County rates are near yours. Dekalb and Fulton are likely to be worse. Rural GA (outside Atlanta) is muuuuch less.

I'm allowed one free accident before my rates are affected ,so if I'm gonna run into someone I'm stepping on the gas and making it count
