it makes a grrring sound when it starts, how much RAM you got? if 64mb as i think then your computer might be swapping a bit after a bit of use

yep 64, still whirring only when cold, I'm not f**king with that bit, was worried the click/grind meant something horrible. No cables or ports yet so cannot salvage anything if something happened to it. If normal than no problem. It isn't always, just occasionally, not even every day.
