The kid has to have some issues...this could have turned out horribly, but it looks like the parents are at least trying here. Good on them.
[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]It was a stupid prank. And it could have done some serious harm. Halton Regional Police have confirmed they’ve arrested a teenager who apparently confessed to being the person who planted shards of glass hidden in silicone on some Burlington playground equipment.

The crime, which was discovered by a father passing through the scene last weekend, didn’t wind up hurting anyone. But it outraged parents across the city and led many to fear taking their children to Des Jardines Park in the Appleby Line and Upper Middle Road areas.

Investigators indicate the boy told his parents what he’d allegedly done, and they didn’t hesitate, immediately marching the youth down to police to confess his sins. “Charges have been laid against a 14-year-old teenager who's a Burlington resident in connection with the mischief on the weekend,” confirms Sgt. Jeff Cory. “Halton Regional Police are continuing to investigate and there are a number of other teenagers who are involved in this and we anticipate further charges.”

A 15 year-old has also spoken to detectives. He’s considered a witness in the incident.
