Heard about this and checked their site right away. Thank goodness none of our pets food is on the list. Phew!

That's a hell of a lot of brands.

Shit! I just checked and we're using Priority cat food right now.

Heard about this over the weekend, nver occurred to me to post it. Thanks Bish. I understand that it's only canned food and nothing we use is on the list.

I love my cats.I'm assuming that most people feel the same way...it was the least that I could do.

It is canned. The packaging may change but the concept doesn't.

Silly minkeys.

I call that "wet food." As opposed to dry food.

I only feed Jordan dry food because I don't want him to get used to waking me up at 6 a.m. to feed him wet food.

My old cat is really old, and I have been feeling like he wasn't getting enough kibble between the having a hard time chewing it thing and the kitten eating it all thing, so I've been buying those pouches (and some cans when they were on sale) for the last few months and giving them each one a day as a supplement/treat. They have eaten a bunch of the ones on the list over the last couple months. I've since thrown the rest out.

So far, so good. They're ok.

You could give them the wet at treat and all, but you shouldn't change it too often cause that can cause the cats to feel ill as well as they have to adjust to something different. Stick to one type of wet food and one type of dry. If you decide to change dry, then mix it in with the old stuff for a period of a week or so slowly adding more of the new one every day.

DAMN THAT BIG PET FOOD!!!!

Get Dan Rather on the story.

Menu Foods told the FDA it received the first complaints of kidney failure and deaths among cats and dogs from pet owners on Feb. 20. It began new tests on Feb. 27.

One week...

See, now what I'd really like to know is what the name of the wheat gluten supplier is, and whether they're also selling to people food manufacturers.

Thank God for Katie Couric. She solved the problem.

The manufacturer of the tainted pet food that is being blamed for the injuries and deaths of cats and dogs across the country said Friday it would compensate owners for their pets' medical bills.

"To the extent that we identify that the cause of any expenses incurred are related to the food, Menu will take responsibility for that," said Menu Foods chief executive Paul Henderson during a news conference Friday afternoon.

USA Today

Seems that the culprit isn't gluten, but rat poison - and now ALL of their animal food products are being recalled.
