The ip3000 has 4 cartridges.

Ahh, now I get it. That "same as yours" was a question, not a statement. I was just wondering. The S450 has four as well. I thought Canon had gotten away from that. Good to hear they're still doing it, I thought that was brilliant.

Yeah, all I've had for a long time now is lex,
and HP, with the 2 cartridges. (besides my trusty 5L laser "blk only")
I really like the idea on this one of having the separate thing for the head.
It seems I get about half a cartridge used on those others, and the damn head clogs.
And or one figgin color runs out.
I tried refilling them and just wind up making a damn mess with even less than desirable results.
So yeah I'm Really looking forward to seeing what option I have here when the ink runs out on this one.

It does.

Tommyj, the older HPs were excellent, I have a 2000Cse (well, the wife does) as well as my Canon and a Samsung laser. My sister is using a Deskjet 870Cse that was mine for years then my Mom's till she died. The new ones don't seem like they have nearly the quality to me.

RE. cables, I use cablesnmore.com mostly.

if i had a place to keep it, i'd like to get a laserjet 5si or 3. used to work with those and the things are practically bomb-proof
