I have only heard of swapping music online, never done it myself , however it will be interesting to find out how Metalica's new cd sales go, or if it will make its way to the internet before release.
And for the life of me I cannot understand why the music industry did not come together on some sort of Napster like program where you pay a monthly fee or something in order to get some revenue from the untold probably millions of songs traded online.

$15 from 1961-1969
$40 for unlimited 1 yr min commitment.

These are prices I would certainly pay, even if the free ones were still out there. I do believe artists need to be paid for thier work.
The greed of the music industry de-motivates people in paying for thier music, and Im not sure shows like cribs and the like help any. Solid gold bedposts? Million dollar cars? Personal chefs? Id say music swapping might have kept one or two stars from getting that 9th ivory back scratcher, but they arent bleeding too badly.
